Recommendation from a Former Townsend Harris High School Student & Current Engineering Major (Top 20 Undergraduate Engineering Program) If you’re a student or parent looking for a place that truly supports academic growth, I want to share my experience from 6th through 11th grade, including summers, and explain why ABCMath made such a difference in my life. ABCMath isn’t just another test‑prep center chasing quick SAT scores. Yes, they help you achieve strong results, but what they really provide is knowledge, guidance, and a deep understanding of the school and college application process. That kind of support is worth far more than a single test score. The teachers and TAs don’t just lecture, they answer questions, push you to think, and help you build the confidence to learn independently. That ability to ask, understand, and grow is what you’re truly investing in. I say this as someone who started at the very bottom academically in elementary school. Through hard work, determination, and the support I received at ABCMath, I went from struggling to eventually being accepted into Townsend Harris High School, and later into a Top 20 engineering university, where I now study Electrical and Computer Engineering. Opportunities like this don’t come often. Money comes and goes, but the chance to change your life through education is something you don’t want to miss. My advice: study hard, stay independent, be different, and stay curious, those qualities are the foundation of everything. The road will always be bumpy, but it’s never about who’s the fastest, the quickest, or even the smartest. It’s about who can endure the longest.

I’m very happy that we found ABC Math, who helped guide my daughter to achieve her goal. She got accepted to both Bronx Science and Townsend Harris School.

I've attended ABCMath not only for SHSAT prep but also their high school classes, such as geometry and biology. I was fully prepared both for the specialized high school exam and the rigorous courses when I started Bronx Science.The teachers and TAs are all here to help you succeed and willing to go above and beyond for every student. Overall, I highly recommend ABCMath to anyone looking for a supportive learning environment.

ABCMath SAT class was really good. The teacher was great, and there were also a lot of teaching assistants who were very helpful. They explained things clearly and made it easier to get help when I had questions. The class helped me feel more prepared for the SAT.

Do not go here. This place prioritizes scores over actual improvement and it’s unacceptable. They give an absurd amount of work and don’t go into enough detail during the actual work sessions to be helpful. The work given isn’t fit to the SHSAT standards and teaches things so much above its level that it is not useful. The sessions are fully listening based, no visuals. If they see you struggling they let you fail. Absurd fee as well.
