I suggest anyone interested and seriously looking to learn contemporary genres and styles, especially for the guitar, find and study with a competent individual teacher as opposed to these so-called store front franchise schools. They routinely push to sell packaged lessons with excessive prices, employing aggressive sales methods for profit. Study instead with a private teacher who is independent and does not enforce these draconian lesson polices and who can better relate to your specific needs as a music student. Parents are often the worse judge at finding a suitable teacher for student lessons. be creative and seek out and support independent musicians. You will find the best and most talented work individually and abhor these type of establishments which seek to profit off of the creative backs of gifted musicians.
