All Star Studios

I love All Star Studios. As both a former employee for 7 years, and now a parent with a 3 year old who takes Preballet, I can say wholeheartedly that this place is run by loving, special people. The owner, Ms. Rysa, is devoted to making the studio a second home for the students (and staff)! I've witnessed students grow from little dancers to successful adults that are refined performers and well rounded individuals. Students have been able to attend prestigious performing arts schools and programs because of the skills acquired at All Star Studios. Your child will flourish here! The annual recitals are well organized, entertaining, and a great display of the skills taught. My daughter went from being too nervous to even go into class to being excited for class and begging to go on stage again! Shoutout to the teachers and class assistants for being so patient and encouraging to her! What makes this place extra special is the authenticity of the teachers and desk staff. They remember your child, treat families warmly, and are just amazing humans behind closed doors too. There is no cattiness, no drama, just love and good values here. The teachers become mentors for the students, and classmates become life long friends. The dance families create a village and support one another - not just by carpooling but through hard times too. If you're looking for a studio for your child, this is the place to be! There are so many dance studios in NYC but none like All Star Studios!

I love this studio. All the staff and the teachers are so sweet and they truly care about every single student who dances there. The space is also very clean and the waiting room is perfect if you have to wait for your dancer. 5 stars would definitely recommend.

Astonishing to think that my daughter, who will soon graduate high school,, has been a student at this dance school since the age of three! What a remarkable learning experience this has been for her and an enormous part of her existence and being. Have I really attended 14 years of dance recitals for ballet, jazz/contemporary, hip hop, and acro?! While we have watched our daughter grow through the years, we have also watched this organization grow into a remarkable powerhouse, churning out capable dancers year in and year out. What an astonishing success story! Hats off to you, Ms. Rysa!

Worst experience ever at this so-called ballet school. This place is policy-centered, not child-centered. From our experience, parents are treated more like a source of revenue than partners in a child’s learning journey. What was most disappointing was the staff’s behavior. Facts were misrepresented, communication was not honest, and the attitude we encountered was cold, indifferent, and lacking basic empathy. This is especially unacceptable in a class designed for very young children. The environment feels over-commercialized. Parents need to be extremely careful with their policies and promises. Everything is strictly enforced, but genuine care for children’s feelings and experiences seems secondary. In addition, the teachers are not former dancers, nor do they appear to be professionally trained. Families should compare multiple studios and speak with other institutions before enrolling here. Caring for young children is difficult, but that is exactly why honesty, warmth, and professionalism are essential. Sadly, this studio failed in all three areas. I would not recommend this place.

My daughter did not like it and I was amazed on how unprofessional the school was and how standoffish the teacher was at a ballet class for 3 year olds. I expect a ballet teacher and assistant who are either former dancers or at least studying to be dancers. Also warmth with little kids is important. This review is long overdue but really such a bad experience here.
