My favorite nail salon..! The girls here are quick but super detailed & really care about prepping and getting your designs correct. I’ve come here several times and left super happy each time. This time I came bc I needed to fix a broken nail and my nail tech checked each of my nails really well and discovered a few cracks on three other fingers and fixed it for me. Definitely check this place out they care about their customers and their work

First time going to this salon and had a great experience! Everyone was so nice and friendly. I really liked how I pre paid for the services when booking the appointment so that when my nails were done I can just quickly head out. I already had builder gel on my natural nails so that they could start growing out but they started lifting (these were done at a different salon). My appointment was with Liam and he prepped my nails really well after removing the old gel and did a fill in for me. I also showed an inspo pic of a design I liked and they were transparent with letting me know that I didn’t select the correct service option since the inspo I had needed a more complex design. So I went ahead and chose to do a single color cat eye and I love it (: I would definitely recommend going here! I usually enjoy having long extension tips but excited to continue going to this salon for my natural nails growth journey. (I also enjoyed the latte they gave me, it was delicious)

I live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and I specifically came all the way here for my cat eye nails — and it was 100% worth it. Anika Japanese Beauty Lounge is so clean, calm, and beautifully curated. The technicians are incredibly detailed and patient, especially with the cat eye design. The shimmer, depth, and finish came out even better than I expected — elegant, smooth, and very refined. You can really tell they care about quality and take their time to make sure everything is perfect. This place truly delivers Japanese-style precision and aesthetics. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for high-end nail art and a relaxing experience 💅✨

The best nail salon in the city! I feel so lucky to have discovered this hidden gem. The whole team truly loves what they do, and their passion shows in every detail. Every visit has been an amazing experience. And Stephanie is by far the best nail technician I’ve ever met! Attention to detail. Highly recommended if you want professional Japanese nails that last for weeks!

I’ve had this salon on my list for a while as someone who’s done Japanese gel and Russian gel manis. I also saw a lot of great reviews and great pictures of their work. I finally tried it about two weeks ago on 1/16 and unfortunately had a subpar experience. I initially was running a few minutes late due to train delays which I tried to inform the salon about but there was no answer. I was greeted by Destiny upon arrival, who was my nail tech and mentioned it was not an issue which was appreciated. I was offered water which was also appreciated. We got started and I picked a color. Options were limited as I was looking for a deeper pink shade but settled on a lovely lavender color. One thing I noticed throughout the appointment was that the nail tech was consistently on her phone/glancing over in between tasks. She also picked up the phone at one point to chat with a customer for a few minutes who was asking about booking a last minute appointment. I felt as though this wasn’t professional but was willing to overlook it if my nails turned out as good as the other pictures I’d seen. This behavior continued and I also found that she was rushing when applying the base/builder gel which is a critical part of the manicure to make sure the base is even. Eventually, I noticed that one nail was uneven as she was painting the color. She said it would be fixed with a second coat and while it looked a bit better, the nail wasn’t fully even. Lastly, when she was applying the top coat, also pretty fast, I noticed bubbles started to form that weren’t being smoothed out. Since this is the final piece that’s supposed to seal your manicure, I was concerned that it was being overlooked. When I pointed this out before curing the nails for the last time, she was willing to fix the error but appeared inconvenienced and said, “please note bubbles are to be expected”. I replied that I’ve had many manicures and this is never an issue. It was off putting. The bubbles were smoothed out and at the end, I was happy with the color. What I didn’t notice and am noticing now as it’s been nearly two weeks and the nails are growing out is that pretty much all of the nails are uneven and the nail polish/base is crooked on some nails. Not to mention, I also have one nail that started lifting and I had to file it down to prevent the rest of it from lifting too until I can make an appointment elsewhere to remove the whole set. Overall, not super happy with this experience as these manicures are not cheap. Price is not an issue for me when it comes to these manicures but I would expect better customer service, attention to detail and attention to the customer during their appointment especially for a salon that takes the full cost of the service at the time of booking. I’m glad others are having a better experience and wonder if that depends on the customer/tech. I would consider trying other techs but honestly this experience was not enjoyable or relaxing so I likely won’t return. Hopefully this can be received as constructive feedback to improve the experience of other customers in the future.
