Nice shop selling Vietnamese finger food including Banh Mi, spring rolls, Vietnamese coffee, banana fritters and much more. The coffee and Banh Mi are must try. Support them when you’re around the neighborhood!
Absolutely solid banh mi. The best we’ve had in flushing in a long while and on par with saigon in manhattan chinatown. Got the crispy pork w vietnamese iced coffee. Bread where it needed to be on the crunchy scale, pork was juicy and had crispy skin pieces, cilantro and pickled carrots were fresh and crispy. Paté really brought it together tight - french style with a port wine type of flavor instead of the bland kind you’ll find on lesser viet sandwich places. Iced coffee tasted freshly made and expertly crafted - no bitter overbrewing, just the right amount of sweet.
Finding a truly authentic Vietnamese banh mi in Queens can be a challenge, but Banh Mi TBD has mastered it. As someone who visits Vietnam frequently and knows a good banh mi when I taste one, this place is my go-to in Flushing. I always order the banh mi heo quay, and it never disappoints. The pork is the star of the show; Terry, the owner, makes the crispy pork belly in-house. It’s roasted to perfection—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Combined with a fresh, airy baguette and the traditional toppings, it’s a perfect representation of the sandwich you'd find on a busy street corner in Vietnam. You should also try their cha gio (spring rolls). They’re not those tiny ones you often get; these are a good size and fried beautifully. Beyond the delicious food, the owner Terry is incredibly kind and welcoming. His passion for the food is clear, and it’s a pleasure to support a business that brings such genuine flavor and diversity to the Flushing community. If you're looking for the real deal, this is it.
I first tried this spot at Queens Night Market, and from the very first bite I literally thought, “Whoa… this might be the best bánh mì in New York.” Coming from California—where Vietnamese food is everywhere and expectations are high. This bánh mì spot checks all the boxes: rich, flavorful pâté, perfectly crisp bread, and the real essentials—pickled carrots and daikon, fresh jalapeños, and cilantro. Nothing is missing, nothing is overdone. Huge shoutout to Terry, who is awesome and clearly passionate about what he does. Super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely proud of the food he’s serving. Please support this spot—great people, great energy, and the sandwiches are absolutely fire 🔥. I’ll definitely be coming again & again when I’m around. Or I can simply just doordash it!
Having good banh mi in the borough of Queens is a blessing. I’ve tried two of their sandwiches, the crispy pork and the chicken. The protein servings were generous and flavorful. The baguette itself could be crispier and warmer. I also prefer a stronger flavor from my pickled carrots and daikon, TBD’s was on the mellower side. The beef empanada was tasty but skew more Latin American than Vietnamese in taste. Service was friendly and accommodating. I prefer them over Joju.
