I went into Bao on a whim for a gloss to tone down my brassy parts. The service and warmth was so lovely that I ended up coming back the very next day for a corrective haircut and probably was one of the better ones I’ve ever had. I’m really picky about my hair fwiw. Kim and the team are precise, skilled, quick, and kind. The video is from day-of and the photos are from 3 months post haircut. Still lovely as ever.

Have walked by this place several times, and have always been curious to try it out, and very glad I finally did. They were able to squeeze me in for a haircut - and they did an amazing job. Will be back!

I’ve been a customer of Bao Hair Salon for over four years, and they’ve consistently taken great care of me. I’ve had many haircuts here — and even trusted Ronnie with my bridal updo — which turned out beautifully. The space itself is small, with four chairs and two washing stations, and I’ve seen stylists come and go over the years. That said, I’m really happy with the current team. For the past two years, I’ve been getting a (prettyyyy short!) haircut every three months, and I’m actually due for another one soon — so I’ll be reaching out to Ronnie, the owner, again. Reliable, friendly, and skilled — highly recommend.

the people are nice but i got something completely different than what i asked for. i showed a reference picture and the result looks nothing like it. i later reminded her that i wanted to blend my roots and she said to let them grow out and it’ll look like the picture, which is not the case or even possible. i walked out with damp hair and they didn’t even brush it. then they still expected a tip even though i was clearly not happy with the results.

One of the most disrespectful, unkind, unreasonable and just horrid places I have ever had the displeasure of going to. We called 30 minutes in advanced to let them know we will be running 10 minutes late and they started to scream on the phone and refused to accommodate. Which is fine! Unfortunately I cannot control NYC traffic I wish I could! But we also don’t scream at grown women we try to speak with respect which clearly this ridiculous institution lacks. I do not reccomend
