Non-denominational church with a lot of history, the original congregation had a schism in 1852 when some broke off and formed a new church, which built on amity st, 50 years go by and across the street is where the new (current) church was built, the street was renamed Roosevelt ave during the passing years and in 1970 the church across the street agreed to rejoin with them, becoming the Bowne St. Community Church. With the neighborhood changing in demographics due to a influx of Asian and central and south americans amid a loss of anglo-saxon protestants the church is poised to be a major player in flushing ministries.
