Brooklyn Zoo & Aquarium Pet Store

This place is definitely a one stop shop for pets. I love going in there for a purchase or just for a look see. The staff are friendly and helpful and know their stuff. Their fish selection is amazing and what they don't have they will gladly order for you. The plant selection is varied with some really healthy looking plants. Their other live animals look Healthy and comfortable. I highly recommend this shop.

Their customer service is excellent!! … A very welcoming atmosphere, with staff that came up to us with helpful advice and service. Very large selection of both fresh and saltwater fish, as well as plenty of merchandise for sale. … Some of the tanks looked like they needed better maintenance, but I’m assuming they’re just understaffed. East to find parking right in front of the store. The prices to me personally seemed a bit on the higher side for the saltwater fish. A great selection though.

***DO NOT TAKE YOYR DOG HERE TO BE GROOMED**** I recently took my Chow Chow to Brooklyn Zoo for a standard winter cut. I explained to the groomer and we agreed that she would take his hair down short in the back of his body and to give him a lion cut. That his mane was to be trimmed. The groomer went on to tell me that my dogs hair was severely matted. I strongly disagreed with her and told her once again to cut the back near his hind-legs shirt however not to cut him mane which is part of one of my dogs breed distinctive characters along with his black tongue. In any regard, I returned to the groomer to pick up my dog and the below are the before and after pictures. ***BEWARE*** By the way, it’s starting to get very cold here in New York. My dog is left hairless and cold.
