Bunny Hill LIC Preschool

Our kid still talks about Bunnyhill - they’re in grade 1 now! Lovely teachers, very responsive admin. We moved from another daycare after several glowingly positive reviews from friends. If I had another kid I’d send them here!

Bunny Hill offers a warm and stable environment, filled with enriching activities, frequent interactions with parents, and special activities (optional - with added cost) that have made me feel lucky that we found this school. We've tried one other place in the area, and know parents from a few others, and I can confidently say this is the best place out of all the ones I know or have heard direct experiences from. The details on why I say this are below; everything I wished other parents had written when we were looking for a daycare. Admin staff. The tone comes from the top, Leah - the owner. She alternates between the two locations, and whenever she's in the school she makes a big effort to interact with parents and kids alike. Always with a smile, and a warm attitude, she's made herself present at every stage of our kids developmental stages. Even when Leah's not in, either Christina (the director) or Nairovy (admin support) are always at the entrance of the school. Even if daily interactions are brief, they proactively make them count by either giving brief comments of things they've observed, asking for feedback on the school or activities, or engaging with the kids. Our son, and us, are fans :). Teachers. Incredible. Every teacher we've had has provided constant updates through the app (Brightwheel) that are relevant and useful (sometimes funny as well). When we've had meetings, they've all shown that they really know our son, and have provided valuable feedback. When our son presented challenges, they all worked with us to get through them. Also, they all have had relevant education profiles, and there's been little to no rotation outside of the program cycles. Activities. Our son is 4, and he has taken karate (included), yoga (included), piano (extra), robotics (extra), soccer (included in the summer), singing (extra), art (included), Mandarin (included), STEAM workshops (included), and now Gifted and Talented preparation classes (extra). Other extra activities that have been available (but we didn't opt into) have been theater, ballet, chess, and dance. All this on top of the regular program. Absolutely no school that I've heard of in the area offers even half as many activities (though some are working to catch up). The best part is our son has enjoyed every one. He's kept asking for more which is our best hint that the instruction in the classes is fun, and we can see the improvements he's made with each one. Site. Bright, open, clean, with good-sized classrooms, and a large bathroom so kids can go to the potty in groups. There's now also a new site for infants that has a roof garden, and an indoor piazza, that is sometimes used for special activities of the preschool. Price. Comparable to the other schools in the area, albeit the siblings discount is probably the lowest (5% on the lowest tuition vs 10% on lowest in most others, and 10% off total in some).
