Chuan Bistro 三杯叙

Last night, I had the most wonderful dining experience at Chuan Bistro in Flushing, NY. I came with a group of my dearest friends who truly feel like family to me. I originally made a reservation for 11 guests, but 14 of us ended up arriving. Even though it was a very busy night and the restaurant was completely packed, the staff graciously accommodated the additional three guests and managed to arrange our large table so we could all sit together. That level of hospitality immediately made us feel welcome. We arrived early so we could take part in one of the most unique parts of the experience — changing into their beautiful traditional Hanfu outfits. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and one of our servers even assisted us with getting dressed properly. From the moment you step inside, the restaurant’s décor transports you. The atmosphere is stunning, authentic, and immersive — it truly felt like we were somewhere in China rather than in Flushing, New York. The food was excellent and surprisingly affordable. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and despite ordering quite a lot, every plate was finished! Everything was flavorful, beautifully presented, and perfect for sharing with a big group. Another highlight of the evening was the traditional dance performances that took place during dinner. The performances added such a fun and engaging cultural element to the evening and made the entire experience even more memorable. Our servers, Cary and another wonderful lady whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch, were fantastic. They were attentive, efficient, and very friendly throughout the evening, even with how busy the restaurant was. Overall, it was such a fun, unique, and enjoyable experience for our whole group. Between the immersive décor, delicious food, cultural performances, and excellent service, this is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone looking for something special and different. I highly recommend Chuan Bistro and will absolutely return again.

Loved my experience here & it has easily became my favorite Chinese restaurant. -Make reservations! -multi floor experience -Great atmosphere & ambience -immersive experience : A Time travel to the Tang Dynasty -Sichuan cuisine (flavors of Chengdu) so if you want spice in your life…This is it! -loved the Hanfu experience (they truly dressed me up so incredibly, I felt like a princess and one of the dancers) -incredible live performances! Definitely recommend ✨Every dish I tried was delicious—full of flavor and clearly made with care. -Dry pot cauliflower was delicious -cumin lamb chops were great -hot tea for table -green ice tea was good -kung Pao chicken was good

Absolutely loved this place. The vibes were warm, lively, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Every dish I tried was delicious—full of flavor and clearly made with care. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the woman who performed a cultural dance during our visit. It added such a beautiful, authentic touch and made the night feel special and meaningful, not just like a meal but an experience. This is the kind of restaurant you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend.

Great portion! A bit salty overall for all dishes, but the Chongqing spicy chicken is among the BEST and it is HUGE. Generous. Performance 3 times at night starting at 7PM as of FEB 2026; dinner only I believe. 2 floors. I recommend the 1st floor for seeing performance, but 2nd floor for overall view.

I visited this Szechuan restaurant today, and while the interior decor is impressive, the overall experience was very disappointing due to poor service and food quality. Service Issues: • Drink Service: We asked for tea and cold water, but they served us "hot plain water" instead. We also requested ice for our Diet Coke, which didn't arrive until we were almost finished with our meal. • Lack of Communication: We ordered several skewers, but only after finishing almost all our other dishes were we told that skewers are only available after 3:00 PM. This should have been mentioned when we placed the order. • Missing Utensils: They served the soup but failed to provide any spoons or bowls. Food Quality: • Improper Holding Temperature: We sat on the second floor, and it seemed they waited to bring two dishes out at once. Consequently, the surface of the food was cold, and only the center was warm. It clearly sat out for too long before being served. • Soggy Rice: The white rice was overcooked with too much water, resulting in a mushy texture. • Flavor/Spice Level: We followed the recommendation to order "Medium Spicy," but it wasn't spicy at all. For a Szechuan restaurant, the heat was very underwhelming.
