This new BBQ spot in Flushing was a great find! The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was excellent — the staff were friendly and even helped grill the food for us, which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Everything was smooth and stress-free. I’ll definitely come back again and bring friends next time. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great spot for skewers! It’s located on the 2nd floor above Mikiya Wagyu, and it’s definitely worth checking out. The pricing is very reasonable and not expensive at all for the amount of food you get. We ended up eating 53 skewers, plus one side (lychee shrimp balls) and a bottle of Tsingtao beer, and the total came out to $112 including tip, which is a great deal. And that was without even using their membership, so the value would probably be even better with it. The skewers were flavorful and the lychee shrimp balls were a great side dish, and the cold Tsingtao paired perfectly with the food. Overall a great casual spot if you want to enjoy a lot of skewers without spending too much. I’ll definitely come back again.

It’s casual and fun, but still feels intentional easy to relax, grill, and actually enjoy the moment. The experience centers around DIY charcoal skewer grilling, a style rooted in Northern Chinese and Xinjiang skewer culture, where small cuts of meat are cooked quickly over open flame to highlight natural flavor. You grab a tray and choose skewers straight from the fridge, with a wide selection of meats and vegetables. Most skewers start around $1.30 each, with a few premium options mixed in, so it’s easy to try different cuts without overthinking it. What really stood out was the quality of the meat. The lamb skewers were cut with a good balance of lean meat and fat, which matters because lamb fat slowly renders over charcoal, keeping the meat juicy while carrying that smoky aroma. Traditionally paired with cumin and chili, this style of seasoning enhances lamb’s richness and keeps it clean-tasting. The beef skewers had visible marbling and grilled up tender with a nice char. The Wagyu beef tongue was especially good. Beef tongue is prized for its fine muscle fibers and natural fattiness, and Wagyu takes that a step further. What really elevated the night was the live singing. It added a warm, intimate energy to the space without overpowering the room. Combined with the glow of the grills and the steady rhythm of skewers cooking, it gave the place a really nice aura lively, cozy, and perfect for lingering. Overall, Chubby Skewers balances good ingredients, proper charcoal grilling, and a thoughtful atmosphere really well. Between the lamb, beef, Wagyu beef tongue, the comforting sides, and the live music, it made for a date night that felt easy, fun, and genuinely enjoyable.

it was so good and especially the lamb. the service here was top-notch and they were fast tbh. i luv the way how we cooked our food and it tasted rlly delicious. i also rlly liked the cucumber salad it cooled me down so much. they had a lot of vegan options also. i will definitely be coming back with more friends and family. 👌
