CityMD Forest Hills Urgent Care - Queens

Dr. Duroseau could not have been nicer. I was seen quickly and prescribed an antibiotic for a minor infection. I actually had to go on my birthday and he made a little lollipop bouquet! It was such a lovely,unexpected gesture and made my day!

I was there to take care of an infected finger with blood under the nail. I was first seen by Erichel, a medical scribe who got me ready to see Dr. Aminow. Both were professional and made me feel completely comfortable as I told them that I might get lightheaded during the procedure. Dr. Aminow has a wonderful bedside manner and gentle touch. I was happily surprised there wasn’t much pain! Thank you Dr. Aminow and Erichel, you make a great team!

I've been to this CityMD on Austin Street a few times - last year when I had the flu and recently for an injury, and also with my partner for an emergency, and Dr. Duroseau could not have been nicer and such a comfort in a moment of stress and uncertainty. He took his time and was thorough, even though it was very busy at the time. The nurses and receptionists have always been friendly and the check-in process is pretty efficient, though sometimes digital only. Even at its busiest, there was usually enough space to spread out relatively without feeling cramped. I visited this week and they didn't have an x-ray technician at the time. However, the kind receptionist quickly gave me CityMD locations that did, so I would try to call ahead if you need a technician on staff that day before going in. Very grateful to have a solid urgent care in the area.

I went to the CityMD in Forest Hills for a routine flu shot and was told by the front desk that the shot would be covered by my insurance. Based on that information, I agreed to proceed. I was later billed $67 total — $37 for the flu vaccine and $30 for the administration fee — after my insurance denied the claim, stating that non-urgent services at an urgent care facility are not covered. When I contacted CityMD billing and explained that I relied on the information provided at check-in, I was told to appeal with my insurance myself, rather than CityMD taking responsibility for the inaccurate guidance given by their staff. I’m leaving this review to warn others to verify coverage independently, as CityMD did not take responsibility for the guidance given by its own staff.

I went to this urgent care today as a walk-in because I was feeling sick. While I expected a wait, the experience became concerning due to a lack of proper patient verification. I heard my last name called and stood up, but another woman also stood up and approached the nurse. She was taken into an exam room. Unsure if it was meant for me, I went to the front desk to confirm. I was told they would look into it, but no one followed up, and the other patient remained in the room for 15–20 minutes. When she came back out, another nurse called a name and the same woman stood up again. At that point, the nurse who met with her asked aren't you Diaz and I but in saying that I was — meaning the other patient had been seen under my name. While they’re looking into this, I received an email stating that my test results were ready even though I had not been seen yet. This indicates that my medical account was used for another patient’s visit. This was extremely concerning and reflects a serious lack of due diligence in confirming patient identity. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as patient safety and privacy should be a top priority.
