This is a long overdue review . Had terrible lower back pain that started to affect my leg . Pain lasted about a year . Several sessions of physical therapy did nothing to help . A coworker recommended Dr Ma . After even one session , most of the pain went away . I believe I did 6-8 sessions total . Back pain went away and has stayed away for over 5. Years ! I can’t recommend Dr Ma enough. He is wonderful .

Dr. Ma is amazing! Prior to seeing him I was at another acupuncture clinic for nearly 7 months and saw very little progress in my condition. I have seen Dr. Ma only two times so far, but I am confident he will help alleviate my symptoms! After the first visit I knew I was in the right place. He picked up on things that not only my other acupuncturist missed, but even top gynecologists in NYC missed as well. Not to mention that he is the only acupuncturist I've been to that has treated not only the front of my body, but the back part of my body as well - which makes since if you're working with blocked meridians. The ladies giving massages also really help as well. And, they always make sure no needles are left on your body when removing them as well which shows their attention to detail. At the other clinic I went to in Brooklyn the acupuncturist I saw there forgot to remove needles on me twice, which really is not a fun experience! Also, Bethany, the receptionist is amazing as well! She's so on top of things and super friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Ma's office! And, if you're going to acupuncture for the first time you're lucky to have him!

Dr. Ma is my lifesaver. I have been going to him for years. I used to wake up crying every morning from the pain in my hips and back. And than, I started to go to Dr. Ma for healing. Now, I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and feel great. Dr. Ma is a healer.

Dr. Ma is amazing. He has great bedside manner, is very sweet and is extremely knowledgeable about the body. He knows exactly where to place the needles (as strange as it may seem) in order to cure my issues. I HIGHLY recommend making an appointment and sticking with it- acupuncture does not work automatically for chronic issues like mine, but if you continue with dr. ma you will see results within 1 or 2 weeks like I did. Also, Beth (front desk) is awesome - she is also very knowledgable and is super accommodating with your schedule.

Cornerstone Acupuncture 30 E 40th St, New York, NY 10016 I had a problem with my lower back and neck for a very long time. When I was referred to Dr. Ma of Cornerstone Acupuncture by one of his the doctor's students, I was promised a miracle cure for my chronic back pains . Dr. Ma recommended multiple visits to treat the issues with my spine suggesting that a bad condition such as mine can only be dealt with over long series of treatments. After a while I noticed that following the treatments I would feel an improvement which prompted me to follow up with the next treatment in order to support the progress to my condition. To my disappointment each second visit I felt the opposite and seriously regressed and a declined from the previous earlier progress I felt. Needless to say I began to question the effectiveness of Dr. Ma's treatments. Although sometimes felt an improvement I then regressed right back to where I started and that just didn't feel right. I asked my referring friend who recommended Dr. Ma about the inconsistencies in treatments' results and the idea of going there for weeks and month on end. She admitted that she felt the same and therefore stopped visiting Dr. Ma saying that he wasn't being completely honest. Now this coming from his own acupuncture student rang true to me. When I complained to Dr. Ma about what I was feeling, he explained that the treatment was a two stage process. I was surprised to hear that explanation for the first time. Not satisfied with that reasoning I persisted with more detailed points of what I felt about the treatments to which he responded with the answer that he couldn't predict how my body was going to respond to his treatments. Now this I found a bit strange. If first you suggest a two stage treatments that result with the opposite outcome, but in fact you are as a Dr. not sure how the body reacts to it, I seriously worry about what you do as an acupuncture practitioner. This kind of answer does not instill confidence or hope in a Dr. promise of healing a patient. When I called once more to request additional information about his particular brand of inconsistent and unpredictable methods of diagnosis and treatments \ and requested to change the approach, he simply hung up the phone and never ever called back or answered answered my calls. If you let a Dr. treat your body with needles, medications, surgery, or any other procedure, ask them first if they know what they are doing to your body and what will be the outcome. It seams Dr. Ma does not know the effects of his own treatments. • • •
