This was very delicious and affordable. Tender meat! I also bought soy milk and fried dough sticks which were tasty, best soy milk, it was super smooth and slightly sweet.

I was here mainly for the large and really well stocked bakery section. Gets really busy during lunch hours, so be prepared to stand in line at the cashiers with Chinese uncles pushing you every which way! The food is really good value for money, and you would do well going here for staples like the giant BBQ pork buns over some local takeaways. I also really liked their cocktail buns. Definitely check out this place when you’re in the are. Just don’t make my mistakes and grab so much food “as a snack for later” that you spoil your dinner, lmao

We spent the day in Chinatown for grocery shopping and lunch. First we went to Fresh Market for fruits and veggies. Then to Maxi noodles for lunch. Then back to Deluxe for meat. Place is packed with shoppers and a great selection of very fresh seafood and meats of all kinds. They have everything and prices are good. This time we only needed chicken and some deserts. Highly recommended.

We ended up frequenting this not so deluxe market because the pharmacy my MIL uses gave out gift cards after x number of prescription fills. The market is narrow but spans the block between Elizabeth and Mott St. Half of the market serves groceries and the other, cooked foods. We primarily consume at the latter, which consists of a bakery, a BBQ counter, a sushi section, and hot food counter. Prices are generally good and competitive. But a few times we would get fooled by a few bargains. They would flip or hide the burnt side of pork and put them on clearance, only for people like me who took the bait to find out the whole thing was inedible. We have caught them cheating on non-sale items as well. For example, hiding wing tips under the duck wings, attempting to mislead by placing a case of 8 plain dumplings in front of a buffet of fried dumplings which only come with 5 pieces, etc. Every staff I have interacted with are not friendly if not outright rude, and will stiff you as if it’s their own business. The cashier lines are normally long and chaotic. In other words, even though the prices are good, the experiences have been awful. I can really care less about this place; unfortunately, I will have to be back - thanks to the gift cards from the pharmacy.

Warning food issue Pre-made or already sitting counter of some meat are RAW inside , outside layer is cover with sauce. Some of the meat are too fatty and oily. Some food vegetables found is odds is rotten and it not consider fresh either. I did ask for a small portion black pepper short ribs but didn’t expect is to be $14.00 per pound. Which is like $10 . When staff pick each meat and count 7-8 piece meat. Still look is very oily. And not sure about meat did mention might raw previous experience. Understand is pre-made at bar meal not worthy deal buying it. Place is popular , almost takeout order and pre-made meal . Some of bar food inside are by weight only. Asia market bottom. Feel like anything won’t sell at market and replace as in food bar. Suggest if you decide to buy small portion not by meat . Is raw and oily. Okay this place. If you decide buy Meal $8+ deal buy it somewhere not worthy your money.
