I walked in here on a whim, having wanted to dye my hair for several years. The staff were extremely accommodating and the wait was much shorter than anticipated. My main stylist was John and he did an excellent job and realized very quickly what I wanted and needed. He did not try to upcharge me or suggest anything I didn't need. The staff were incredibly communicative about the options and their costs John was assisted by Mohn (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!), who washed my hair and worked tirelessly to layer my hair with the dye. They both put in maximum effort, and even consulted a third stylist to ensure the toning came out perfect. And, in the end, it did! This was a complete trust fall for me. I woke up today not even planning on going through with this, despite it being a dream of mine for years. I'm not native to Flushing and don't speak a word of Mandarin. None of that stopped the staff here from accommodating me and making sure I got what I want. In the end, I paid around $400 for a double bleaching plus toner and a haircut. For the result, it is by no means expensive. I would gladly do it again, and will be coming back here as a regular for all my hair styling needs.
bro the person i got didnt speak english so it was very hard to communicate and in the end i DID NOT like the hair. My bangs were literally fine but he cut more on the side and it made me look like i have a bowl cut. And the styling could be better bc i have wavy hair and the guy just kept separating the hair parts which makes my hair puffy. Overall my hair didnt look like the picture.. like r we serious and my bangs r now short and FLAT. Would not recommend this place if u have wavy or curly hair.
I scheduled an appointment and was seen an hour and a half later. It was a bit disheartening to observe others who arrived after me being attended to first. My initial visit was wonderful, and I was very pleased with the results, which made me optimistic for this second appointment. Unfortunately, this time did not meet my expectations. I had requested long layers and curtain bangs. However, the stylist, who had difficulty communicating in my language, gave me a bowl cut, removing a significant amount of volume from the bottom of my hair and leaving much more at the top. I had very long and thick hair, and my intention was simply to trim the ends and add bangs.
At check-in, I was told the estimated wait time would be about 40 minutes, which I agreed to. However, the actual wait was approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. During this entire waiting period, I observed one stylist seated and using an electronic device, while my service was not being arranged. When I asked about the delay, I was told that everyone was busy, without any clear explanation. After shampooing, the first stylist assigned to me stated that he already had other arrangements and could not cut my hair. He then asked another stylist to take over. This stylist was the same person I had seen seated and using an electronic device during my long wait. I showed him reference photos. Before and during the haircut, he asked me multiple times to show the same reference photos again. He then cut my bangs. After my bangs were already cut, he looked at the reference photo again. During the service, he checked his personal phone twice, each time for about one minute. After checking his phone the second time, he looked at the photo again and then stated that my hair “could not be cut” and said, “just leave it like this,” and ended the service. All explanations about the hairstyle being unsuitable, the model in the photo having makeup or enhancement, and concerns about the result were only mentioned after my bangs had already been cut. Because my bangs had already been cut and no correction or remedy was offered, I felt extremely distressed when I saw the result, although I remained calm and did not argue. When I went to the front desk, the stylist said he would not charge me and said, “just leave it like this.” I offered to pay, but he refused and repeatedly asked whether I was satisfied with my bangs. During this time, the front desk staff remained silent and did not respond. I ultimately left with an incomplete service, damaged bangs, and no attempt to correct the issue. The wait time far exceeded what was communicated, the service arrangement was disorganized, and professional judgment and communication occurred only after cutting had already taken place. In the United States, basic consumer rights are protected by established consumer protection mechanisms. I hope the business will take service procedures and professional standards seriously. I also hope that other consumers who experience similar situations will consider using appropriate channels to report such issues in order to protect their consumer rights. ** **Update after business response: The business provided an explanation focused primarily on scheduling and estimated wait times. However, the core issue of my experience remains unaddressed. The haircut was initiated without proper professional assessment, and irreversible cutting occurred before the stylist stated that the requested style could not be completed. No correction or remedy was offered after this point. While the service was not charged, this does not resolve the lack of professional judgment and accountability once the service had begun.
Worst haircut experience and was very disappointed with my experience. During my appointment, the stylist (forgot his name) spent most of the time talking to someone else and paid little to no attention to my haircut. I did not feel like I was receiving professional service or care. Unfortunately, the final result was far below expectations. The haircut looked uneven and poorly executed — honestly worse than if I had cut it myself at home. For the price paid, I expected much better attention to detail and customer focus.
