My mom had cataract surgery with trifocal lenses in both eyes—the left eye on March 21, 2025, and the right eye on April 18, 2025. Everything went perfectly, and she no longer needs to wear glasses at all. We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Andrew Naing. He is kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. I highly recommend him to anyone considering cataract surgery.

Dr. Naing is one of the best Ophthalmologists I have ever had. He checked my eyes thoroughly and wrote appropriate prescriptions during my only visit to him. His medical staff scanned eyes, ask questions about previous treatments and prepare necessary history before meeting the doctor. If one doesn't have time and patience, one shouldn't visit excellent Ophthalmologists like him. My experience of visiting eye doctors for about four decades in NYC is, the longer the wait the better the treatment. Often, we have eye drops and wait many minutes for an effect before eyes can be tested. Everything takes time. Those who wrote disparaging comments are not patients but mostly people who unwillingly accompanied patients from the beginning. Unfortunately, Dr. Naing wasn't inclined to accept me as his regular patient though because I couldn't give him a complete history of previous treatments by other Ophthalmologists.

The doctor itself is good, you will have to wait but his service is exceptional. I have a few problems with the front desk. The Chinese lady with the glasses that is supposedly the “boss” was seen and heard yelling at the front desk employees , telling them that she’s wasting her time and extremely belittling her. As a patient, it is hard to watch this happening and should not be acceptable. The image this “boss” is providing left a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn’t want to come back just because of her.

Actual torture. My elderly mom made an appt at 1pm and had to sit there until 5:30 to finally be seen just for a 15 minute visit. People that were sitting in the reception area all complained how they’ve been waiting for their 11am appointments. This isn’t right what you’re doing to these people. And this happens at every visit. If you cant manage your time efficiently, then set a limit on how many patients you can take or shut down your practice.

We have to wait for extra 4 hours to see doctor. Front desk ladies are very rude and unprofessional unskilled officers. If you have time, find another doctor who accepts state sponsored insurances. No idea how this doctor and his office operates without paying any RESPECT to patients.
