Dr. Chungfai Tung, MD

All the reviews are based on the receptionist being rude/standoffish, which is true. But Dr. Tung, himself, is great. Small practice, caring doctor, who takes his time with you.

I brought my friend here. I was just reading a very bizarre review from a young lady who was looking for a neurologist. Dr. Tung is not a neurologist but rather a nephrologist . . . a doctor of the kidneys. I´m rather shocked that someone would leave such a horrendous review when obviously she was never a patient of Dr. Tung, and doesn´t even understand what his specialty is.

This isn’t my final review haven’t been able to see the doctor yet even though I went today. Yeah the receptionist isn’t great . She’s too on edge. Like I’m uneasy speaking to her. I had an appointment but only had my insurance card on my phone the front and back. She said she needed to make a copy but if I was able to email it would’ve been the same effect. I ended up going to the urgent care downstairs and they took my insurance card via email. But gonna need to try and make another visit after I get my cards in the mail

2nd Review (2 stars, as of 2/2024): Front desk lady is absolutely horrible. Sometimes I call in to ask a question about my grandmother's medication or ask for a telephone appointment with the doctor - she tells me to call 911. I don't understand. I never said it was an emergency, I just wanted to ask a question, within an answer of the same or next day. 2-3 times now this has happened, and it's incredibly difficult to get in touch with the doctor because of this. Honestly, my grandmother and I are considering switching just because of the horrible front service. What use is a doctor's office that you can't even call in with questions about? First Review: (4 stars) The doctor is great. The front desk/person answering the phone is not. You can see the other reviews, even about the person confused about the neurologist/nephrologist. They were giving a bad review based on the phone who answered the phone. A simple "This is not a neurologist office, you must be mistaken" could've resolved it. BTW, this doctor is for Hypertension, Nephrology, and primary/pcp care. Doctor speaks well, relatable, both in English and Fujianese! My grandma feels comfortable seeing him. Funny, honest, and explains well about whatever condition my grandma has, both to me and her! The front desk lady will argue with you nearly on every opportunity. She'll tell you to leave or hang up, call back another day, etc... Like she doesn't want you to see this doctor. It's insane, especially since he's such a great doctor. I've seen her have multiple arguments with patients in the office, and even both my grandma and I have argued with her on separate occasions. Still, my grandma insists we visit here because the doctor is great. If she's happy & healthy, I'm happy.

I am helping a patient look for the best neurologist for TMJ pain. Dr. Tung was first to pop up due to the best reviews,makes you wonder if the reviews are made up. The receptionist answered the phone saying "call tomorrow. we not here." I quickly said I am calling from another doctor's office and asked if the doctor treats TMJ pain and she answered back, "TMJ? I don't know that word, TMJ." I am baffled. All it takes is for one person to mess everything up with very poor customer service and to also be the face of the office and not know what TMJ pain is at a neurologist office. Very sad and confusing situation i was just put in.
