Dr. Vuy San Li

I started to go to Dr. Li when I found I was pregnant last year. I have visited this clinic so many times during my pregnancy. Although we moved away in the second half of my pregnancy, I still travel 1 hour to this doctor. The clinic is very clean, with shiny floor tiles and a spacious bathroom. There might be a short wait, but the seats are comfortable and they provide pregnancy books to read. Their staff will always call me 2 days in advance to remind me of the appointment. Dr. Li is very gentle when she performs the exams. She is always on the cautious side and refers you to a specialist when you have a medical history. She once prescribed me an expensive prenatal vitamin that my insurance doesn’t cover. The prescription and pharmacy system is so complicated, I guess it is hard for her to know the different price of all the medications in different pharmacy. Cheap over the counter choices are always available. Dr. Li helped me to deliver a healthy baby in NYU Brooklyn hospital. The environment and staff in the OB department is great, but the NICU is a slightly different story. Do get your own lactation consultant if you are a first time mom.

Dr. Vuy San Li is one of the best doctors I have met. She is very knowledgeable, excellent in her field, and very friendly. I have never felt so much comfort in other doctors offices like the way she treats. Dr. Li personally delivered my baby safely and the whole pregnancy process was done smoothly. I really appreciated her humanity and services that they provided me throughout my pregnancy journey!

Dr. Li is an excellent OB/GYN. She’s very straightforward, listens to her patients needs and is very respectful. I followed up with her during my pregnancy (first baby) and I can only say positive things. She delivered my baby and the experience was very pleasant. She also speaks Spanish, which was very helpful for me when I didn’t understand some terms in English. Her office is very clean, spacious, and the waiting time is very fair. They are flexible and accommodating. I recommend this practice to anyone.

If you are a first-time pregnant mom, please avoid this OB-GYN. The care is entirely profit-driven with zero sympathy. Unnecessary C-section: The doctor aggressively pushed a C-section for financial gain, ignoring my wishes for a normal delivery. Deceptive Billing: The office ran non-covered tests and refused to correct billing codes when claims were denied. Terrible Wait Times: Expect to wait forever, only to be rushed through an appointment lasting just a few minutes. I have been thinking whether I should post this review or not, but I don't want someone else to be in my position and experience the same regrets. Please be warned.

Not sure why this Chinese doctor received so many positive reviews from non Chinese reviewers. My wife went to Dr. Li office recently when we found out my wife was pregnant. My wife was bleeding on the appointment day and might be miscarriage. The doctor did not give any useful instructions. My wife also took Pap test and the result was suspicious. When we found out weeks later, the doctor seemed never looked at the test result. I doubt she is a skilled OBGYN doctor and don’t even think she is even responsible for her patients. She definitely tries to bill patients as much as she can. I don’t think this is a place you want to go unless you want to endanger yourself or the one you love. I don’t usually leave comments but this place is the ONE place that I want to avoid in my entire life.
