Duane Reade Pharmacy

This is my go-to Duane Reade since it’s close by. Staff is always helpful—today Miguel helped me out with a coupon mix-up and was super patient. Great service!

Always a positive experience coming to this pharmacy. They handle all my medication and yearly flu/covid shots. Staff is friendly and always willing to help.

I had a fantastic experience at Duane Reade thanks to Nargis, one of the cashiers. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. Even during a busy time, she kept a warm smile and made sure every customer felt valued. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares and goes the extra mile — Nargis is one of those people. Her positive attitude truly made my day. Duane Reade is lucky to have her!

This is not only the worst pharmacy I've ever visited, but the worst business and customer experience I've ever encountered through any organization. I switched to Capsule months ago due to ongoing and repeated issues and now only have to contact this pharmacy whenever my doctor accidental sends to the wrong address, and still, they are impossible to reach through phone. Main issues below: 1) They receive prescriptions they cannot fill and then leave them open without even attempting to make contact. This means no other pharmacy is able to fill until they cancel the prescription in their system. This is why point #2 is a huge issue. 2) They do not answer phones. I've spent dozens of hours waiting for a rep to answer and even walked into the pharmacy on hold to find them without a line and available to assist. Try the web portal? I've done exactly that and they offer to provide you the number of the pharmacy instead of intervening in any capacity. 3) If you do get through (will likely take 30 mins to 3+ hours if at all), even with a simple request, like cancelling a prescription, they will say they will complete right away instead of completing said simple request while you are on the phone and then you have to wait and hope the cancellation is actually processed The issue above is just one of numerous baffling scenarios I've encountered with this specific pharmacy. Please note, that I am even now, no longer a customer and still this pharmacy continues to plague me. Medication should not be handled with this amount of sheer neglect. If it cannot be improved through full staff changes and staff increases, consider closing it. What is the potential liability of someone who is unable to get a medication they need due to transportation restraints and is unable to get in contact with representative through phone? I never thought I would have encountered such a poor experience with a business but this pharmacy has truly surpassed expectations.

Literally the worst service ever. I booked a vaccination appointment for 4:30. Its 5:20 and I am still waiting. The head pharmacist saw me standing at the consultation window and didn’t even acknowledge me, let alone ask if I needed any help. Then I went to the drop off/pick up counter and was checked in, but I have been waiting since then, asked when I would be seen, was told “now” and… guess what? Still waiting.
