I contacted them in regards to an apartment that has been on the market for over a month. They discriminate against individuals using Vouchers which is very illegal. The whole conversation got shut down once I informed them of my voucher.... but, I work too. This is ridiculous. I wonder if the owner knows they're doing this smh
I found a house for rent I liked on google and the phone number led me to Emily Xu. I’m new to house rentals as I’ve always lived in high rise buildings but at first, I thought the phone number is the listing agent, Emily is a broker from this company.
Emily has the worse communication ever and won’t own up to her mistake. Upon me inquiring and showing, she was very responsive. Once I sent over her broker fee, she was no longer responsive.
After signing the lease, I asked her if we can get the keys to start moving furniture into the house but not physically move in because our apartment lease ends the same time at lease start date, she said no problem. I took off work, arranged a babysitter and arranged a moving company, but when the day came, she said she never agreed to give keys early and the landlord never agreed. When I finally got the landlords phone number, she said Emily never even asked her for the keys early and this was the first time she’s hearing about it.
I then had to take another day off, pay a babysitter for another day, and another moving company. I gave her the chance to make it right but she never does to this day
Stay far away from Dalia Wu. Went to view an apartment, no oven, no living room never mentioned that. Then said 'maybe you could find something else' rudely. No greeting, and definitely not going to rent!

The broker for 225 East 36th Street, 15C, took my photos and listed it as a 590-square-foot alcove studio when it's a straight studio, 400 Square feet.

I rented this apartment through Cathy, and the overall experience was disappointing — particularly during move-out.
We had asked for and received approval to mount a TV. However, upon moving out, Cathy claimed she did not realize mounting would create holes in the wall and asked us to pay an additional $100. This felt unreasonable, especially given that approval had been granted in advance.
She also raised concerns about the apartment’s cleanliness and stated that we would need to pay for professional cleaners for the next tenant. We left the unit in clean condition, and there was no excessive damage or neglect that would justify additional fees beyond normal turnover.
Additionally, the building does not have a secure package area for deliveries, which creates ongoing inconvenience. The advertised gym is locked at 7pm, making it largely inaccessible for tenants who work standard hours.
Prospective tenants should proceed with caution. In our experience, there were attempts to collect additional money at move-out that did not align with prior agreements. I strongly recommend documenting everything in writing and carefully reviewing any financial requests before agreeing to them.
