Elmhurst Animal Hospital

I’ve been to this animal hospital 1 or 2 times in the past and remember having a good experience. After reading the recent reviews I was skeptical but took a chance. I went on a Saturday about 4 pm or so. It was empty so as soon as I walked in w my dog, we were taken care of. Filled out some papers and were immediately called into the room. Everyone’s was super nice and professional. my dog was examined, they took down all the details the needed. The doctor came in and collected more information, explained everything including what the costs would be if I chose to move forward. They did bloodwork. The doctor explained very thoroughly what everything meant. And advised me if my dog kept acting strange to call them, etc. overall I had a great comforting experience at this veterinary office. And the price was not out of this world. It was fair.

I came with my husky shadow to the animal hospital this past weekend as he was experiencing some pain and not only did the doctor and staff better his condition but they were willing to work with him despite him being possibly one of the most complicated patients they have seen that week if not the past year, many doctors would have turned away from this challenge. I am truly thankful for everyone at this animal hospital who helped us that day and for the care that he received. he is currently doing much better due to their willingness to help!

My dog got attacked and torn up by a pitbull. This was the closest emergency vet open @ 12am. they were done with surgery by 5am. The bill was extremely reasonable considering the damage that was done. My dog was mauled in 3 places(mouth & legs) and most likely would have died from blood loss if I didn't have packets of bleed stop for gunshot wounds to slow down the bleeding along with the quick response of this Emergency Animal Hospital. I'm so grateful for this place. thank you 100x this event took place Aug 2020. apologies for the late review~

I took my baby because he wasn’t feeling well they made me wait over 2 hours ( no one else was there I was the only customer) So waiting just made my dog worse because he stresses out when he goes to a vet .. finally comes out he wouldn’t take us unless I did a full work up.. I agreed .. he came out showed me X-ray .. told me he was fine .. gave me meds that were not helping him made him worse… So it was closing time and doctor puts on his coat takes his things and was going towards the door to leave meanwhile he told me to pay first and to wait for results.. mind you he is trying to leave.. the assistant brings out the meds and test results.. I basically stood in front of him so wasn’t able to leave because I still had more questions.. he was more concerned about how he was going to leave .. he gave me instructions on the meds read som of the results then said I will call you tomorrow.. he never did by the way .. my baby passed away 6 months later .. he never responded to my emails or calls .. so don’t bring your babies here if you want them to live ….

Very bad service. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. First, their opening and closing times do not match what is listed on Google. When I called to ask what time they close, I was told 7:30 PM. Then I asked if I could bring my cat, who I suspect has a UTI, and I was told they close at 7:00 PM and asked what time I would be arriving. This inconsistency was already frustrating. I was then transferred to another staff member and explained my cat’s situation. She told me they could do procedures like an X-ray and a urine test, which is fine. However, when I asked for a price estimate so I could be prepared—or even compare with another vet—I was told they could not give me a quote. That makes no sense. So I’m expected to bring my sick cat in without knowing the cost, and if the bill turns out to be $800 or more and I can’t afford it, I’ve wasted time and stressed my pet for nothing? Not everyone can afford expensive veterinary care, and having at least a general estimate would be helpful and respectful. Overall, poor communication, inconsistent information, and lack of transparency. I would not recommend this place.
