ExcelMandarin is an amazing school if you are looking to learn or improve your Mandarin at a conversational level. I am currently in the final weeks of completing Quarter 1 and I am thoroughly amazed at how much I've been able to learn from their classes. I started as a complete beginner (absolutely no experience) with the Intro course, and after 3 months (now in Q1), I find myself very satisfied with my progress. I have even gained the confidence to start practicing speaking with some Chinese friends. The programs have a strong focus on building conversational skills. The collection of resources, exercises, and classes ensure you build a nice foundation on grammar, speaking, and listening. The teachers are very knowledgeable, readily available to help you with any questions, and most of all patient. Shout-out to Eco for being such an awesome and enthusiastic teacher!

I completed the intro course and am currently taking Q1. I had studied Mandarin a while ago, but I wanted to start from scratch so I don't miss any of the basics. ExcelMandarin was overall a very great experience. The classes are very immersive, and the teachers are very supportive. There is no barrier to asking questions at any time, and I always learned new things in every class.

I decided to sign up for ExcelMandarin after my wife found the school online and—let’s be honest—nagged me to enroll. She insisted I become fluent in my native language so our future children could learn Mandarin too. So I signed up, mostly to get her off my back… and I was completely blown away by the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my Q3 courses with ExcelMandarin. The classes were consistently engaging and thoughtfully paced, which made it easy to stay motivated throughout the term. One of the biggest advantages for me was the schedule—classes were held three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 9 PM Eastern Time. That timing worked perfectly with my routine, giving me time to unwind after work and travel, and settle into class with a clear mind. The spacing between sessions also gave me enough time during the week to study and complete homework without feeling rushed. They were also flexiable and accommodated my schedule when I traveled abroad. A highlight of my experience was learning with Eco, who is an exceptional teacher—patient, easygoing, and always approachable. Her calm and friendly demeanor created a relaxed learning environment that made every class both fun and productive. Helen is also a fantastic teacher. Although she had a scheduling conflict during Q3, Eco stepped in and continued the class with the same level of care and quality. I felt they were both knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in my progress. Another aspect that made the class enjoyable was the camaraderie with my classmates. I learned a lot from them—not just through structured activities, but through the natural flow of Mandarin conversations we shared. These interactions gave me a real sense of confidence and helped me rediscover the joy of speaking Mandarin. Which made me feel more confidant speaking Mandarin while I was traveling aboard. ExcelMandarin’s curriculum and teaching tools are impressively effective. The structured course design and interactive lessons made learning Mandarin feel achievable and enjoyable. I especially appreciated the program’s commitment to continuous improvement. During my course, they introduced and refined new features like Talk2Me, which Evan improved daily to make it more dynamic and useful. That dedication to evolving the learning experience really stood out. Overall, ExcelMandarin is an outstanding language program. The curriculum is well-designed, the tools are innovative, and the team is genuinely invested in helping students succeed. I started learning Mandarin with Excel Mandarin last year and have been having a great experience. The learning is fast paced, but manageable. They offer convenient online classes at different times so a working mom like me can fit it in during the evening. The class sizes are small and the teachers really care about your learning. They provide all the material up front and classes are recorded for your review. Expectations are clear and feedback is encouraged. Classes are three times a week and they hold additional office hours for questions. Since I am on the east coast (I think the teachers are west coast based), it's hard for me to make the office hours sometimes.
