Dr. Latek is phenomenal! She is very kind and knowledgeable, and did a very thorough eye exam for me. I am very happy and pleased to have found a new optometrist in NYC. I have been wearing glasses and contacts for years, and I usually get very anxious with my eye doctor appointments but the staff here were all excellent, and helped me pick out a great new pair of glasses!

This is a fantastic optometry practice! There was excellent communication with staff prior to the visit. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The facility was nice. And the Dr was friendly, patient, respectful, and clearly quite competent. One cannot go wrong by turning to "Eye & Health" for their eye care needs!

I’ve been coming here for years, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review. I love this place. This was round the corner from me when I first started, and I have since moved boroughs and will NOT switch eye doctors. The staff is so so so lovely. Frankly, it’s a majority female staff and that’s the magic. I’ve been seen by a male doctor before and he was also lovely, no shade there. But for real, these wonderful ladies at the front are everything. The energy in the room is just so good! You can tell everyone likes each other and it’s so friendly and warm! On top of that, they make all the confusing medical/insurance mumbo jumbo less stressful and actually make sense. They have repeatedly helped me figure out ways to pay when finances were tight, and have always so extremely helpful and non-judgmental. Big shouts out to Catherine and Silvia who I’ve worked with over the years, they are both absolute delights. They remember me every time, and always have the biggest smiles on their faces! TLDR; this place is great and it’s due to the fabulous female staff. Come here if you want to not hate going to the eye doctors and want a friendly stress-free experience.

After three years, I’ve decided to leave a review because my experience here has been so mixed. The doctors are lovely and knowledgeable, the staff is friendly and warm (with the exception of one person working the front desk) so I do keep coming back. However, it’s also been consistently frustrating in regard to sneaky upselling. They are definitely constantly trying to sell you but they aren’t very transparent about it. And when I asked multiple times for my eyeglass prescription so that I could buy frames elsewhere, they were dodgy and withholding. Last year they never sent my script at all. This year it took three requests. So while I think this is a great eye doctor’s office for health, I’d be aware of their sales tactics and the headache it may cause you.

I really don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I think it is necessary in this case. I will not be visiting this particular optometrist again. I’ve been here three times over the course of the last three years. The first time was to get lenses in a pair of glasses and the process was convoluted. I was up sold, and then it took multiple rounds of returned lenses in order to get the correct tinted lenses in the glasses and the correct prescription. I have no idea why it was so complicated….in all fairness….they did give me a free pair of raybans for my troubles. This last round of disappointment is related to the services that were offered as part of the exam that was paid for by my health insurance. There was no dilation included, and they upsold me on a contact lens examination after the fact. When I’ve made it clear when booking that I was coming in simply for a standard eye exam as part of what my insurance covers and believed a dilation to be included. I left paying $160? I believe for a contact lenses exam above the regular $180 covered by my health insurance but was told a dilation would be another $100…so I skipped this….all said I left feeling like I’d been duped…. it feels like the business practicers are not completely transparent and as such I add to the many people who’ve seemed to have had similar experiences.
