I’ve been coming to Flushing Family Dental for about two years, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. When I first came in, I had a lot of issues with my teeth and gums, but they put together a clear treatment plan and walked me through every step. Since then, I’ve had a root canal, a crown, and red laser treatment for gum recession, and everything has healed and held up really well. I just went in for a cleaning today and it was in and out because my teeth are now in excellent condition. I also want to give a special shout out to Usama, who recommended the red laser treatment and made the whole process much less stressful. He explains everything in-depth, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. Overall, the entire team is professional, friendly, and efficient, and I would absolutely recommend Flushing Family Dental to anyone looking for a long-term dental home in Flushing.

I love coming to flushing family dental! I started coming here about 2.5-3 ish years ago. They always have reminders for my appointments (text or call). They are up front about costs, i.e. $50 for fluoride treatment if you choose to have it. They’re quick and efficient! The whole staff is very nice, Dr. Roman is great, I have had Usama a couple times for cleaning, including today’s visit. They’re quick and efficient! I unfortunately had to have 2 root canals in my early visits but they took care of me and I have had no problems since ✨😁✨

I love there services, I have done an implant with them after being Against and afraid for years since I have very delicate situation, dr. Roman gives his full attention and time to make sure you understand everything and know Every single little about every procedure. I had a big infection in one other tooth that they had previously done root canal , The tooth now is gone, and I am waiting to get another implant on this one. Thank you, flashing family dental. I chose this dental office because it had a 4.7-star rating, and I trusted those reviews. Unfortunately, my experience has left me feeling that online reviews are not always reliable. I received a dental crown through MetroPlus, which was not a free Medicaid or Medicare plan, but a paid insurance plan for which I personally paid approximately $1,600 per month. Based on that, I expected an appropriate level of care and professional responsibility. The crown treatment was performed by Dr. Roman, the owner and head dentist of this practice. From the beginning, I clearly told Dr. Roman that the crown felt too small and too low. I also explained that my previous dentist had advised that, because my gums are sensitive, the crown must be properly contoured so food contacts the tooth—not the gum—during chewing. Despite repeatedly communicating this, my concerns were dismissed. The crown was remade three times by Dr. Roman, yet each time it remained undersized and improperly shaped. As a result, when chewing foods such as meat, carrots, apples, or other firm foods, food consistently strikes my gum instead of the tooth, causing swelling and inflammation almost every time I eat. Throughout this process, I repeatedly called and spoke with the staff, and I believed that my concerns were being fully communicated to Dr. Roman. However, the issue was never properly addressed. During one of my later visits for crown correction, I experienced something that made me extremely uncomfortable. I was told by staff not to pay at the front desk, and it felt as though the office was attempting not to document my visit at all. When the front desk staff initially tried to collect the copayment (which I understood was normally required), they were instructed not to do so. This raised serious concerns for me, as it felt like there was an attempt to avoid creating a record of my visit related to correcting a failed crown. Instead of correcting the crown itself, I was repeatedly told that it was “just inflammation,” advised to rinse with salt water, and told that healing could take 6–8 months. I was also charged $270 for scaling and inflammation treatment, which did not resolve the issue. Now, more than one year has passed, and my condition has not improved. Chronic gum inflammation lasting over a year after crown placement is not normal and strongly suggests a structural and functional problem with the crown, not a simple hygiene issue. Given the repeated dismissal of my concerns, the ongoing discomfort, the additional costs, and the questionable handling of my visit records, this experience has been deeply disappointing—especially considering this was care provided under a high-cost, paid insurance plan. I am now seeking a second opinion to document whether this crown was improperly designed and whether corrective treatment is required. I strongly encourage patients to seek additional opinions and to carefully advocate for themselves if their concerns are not being taken seriously.
