From the moment I walked in, I was taken care of right away. The admissions staff were welcoming and efficient, which immediately made me feel at ease. Nurse Margie is incredibly sweet and took the time to explain everything clearly. She gave so much helpful information and made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. Dr. Chen, my surgeon, has been amazing from the very beginning of my journey. He is caring, patient, and truly listens. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients, and that made a huge difference for me. During discharge, Nurse Ferdinand was so kind and attentive. What really stood out was that he even made a follow-up call the next day just to check if everything was going well with my surgery, that meant a lot. When I walked into the operating room, everyone was already prepared and extremely professional. The doctors and nurses assisting Dr. Chen were calm, focused, and reassuring. Before I fell asleep, I was counting how many people were there to help me, there were 7 of them! It made me feel very safe and well cared for. Overall, my experience was excellent. I felt supported, respected, and truly cared for. My recovery journey has not been stressful, and the wound has not been too painful, which I truly appreciate. Thank you to the entire Flushing Hospital team for everything you do.

Flushing Hospital truly left a positive impression on me. I’ve been to many hospitals recently since my mother-in-law has not been well, and after so many visits, you start to notice the differences in care and atmosphere. Flushing Hospital stood out in a surprisingly good way. From the moment we walked in, every staff member we encountered was kind and respectful. The security guards were welcoming and helpful, which immediately made the experience feel less stressful. The nurses were attentive, patient, and compassionate, taking the time to explain things and check in often. Even the kitchen staff and other support staff were friendly and considerate, always greeting us with a smile. What really struck me was the overall sense of teamwork and care. Hospitals can feel cold or overwhelming, especially when you’re there for a loved one, but the staff here made us feel supported and respected during a difficult time. Their kindness made a meaningful difference in our experience. While no one wants to spend time in a hospital, it’s comforting to know that places like Flushing Hospital exist, where people are treated with dignity and warmth. I’m genuinely thankful for the care and compassion shown to our family during such a challenging period.

I received professional and compassionate care . The ER doctor quickly assessed my problem and ordered appropriate tests which were quickly done . The ultrasound technician was so compassionate and gentle and eased my fears . CT technicians allayed my fears and were quick and professional. Every nurse on the 4th floor unit I was admitted to was kind and professional . I was treated like a queen . Every doctor assigned to me was professional and kind and made sure I was informed of everything. I don’t think I could have gotten better care at any hospital in NYC . I can’t forget interventional radiology that got me through a tough procedure with the kindest and most skilled professional care . I am truly grateful EMS transported me to your hospital . I feel like you guys saved my life and so will forever be grateful . Also food service really strived to make sure I had the best of food and it was good .

I can’t say I would recommend giving birth here, but it wasn’t the worst experience. Most of the nurses were 10/10 amazing. Only a few weren’t great. The lactation consultant Jimena was 1000/10 amazing! Delivery was ok then not. Was given epidural and Pitocin, which I was fine with both and comfortable enough while dilating. The nurses I started with were kind, but the main nurse with me through delivery was snippy. The worst is my doctor though. Granted she wanted to do a number of things with me (count with her to push, put her hands on me to aid things along, and wanted me to hold my thighs instead of the hospital bed) and I basically did none of them. So I know she was frustrated with me, but I kept telling her I was listening to the timing of my baby coming to count and push and that I could not follow her counting (it felt off with my contractions). So then the doctor sat back on the chair, clearly pissed off at me. All and all, I felt like everyone was angry at me instead of supportive because I wasn’t delivering their way. Once the baby’s head was out, the doctor jumped up and finished. I had a fine healthy birth. When I first talked to this hospital, they mentioned that they keep the baby with you at all times. I thought that was great when I heard it, but in practice, I would not recommend (unless you have specific reasons). Basically right after giving birth you go right into caring for your baby and instead I wish I picked a hospital with a nursery so I could’ve slept and recovered. The nurses do not come in and help you take care of him. They may change the first diaper or so but basically it is up to you. Food was ok. First day was not great. Then someone from food services came up and asked me how it was and I straight up told them. From there it got better. I’d give it a 5/10.

If you care about your loved ones, please avoid at all cost. Probably one of the worst hospitals that I have seen. The doctors are absolutely dense and have no kind of care or proper training in caring for people. My partner was admitted and left alone for hours, no call buttons works. No meds or fluids were given to him for hours at a time. Absolutely disgusted with this place. They keep sedating him and not helping him with the reason why he came in which was abdominal pain and burning. The doctor told him to eat better. When speaking to the nurses. She said the only test they have run on him so far is an EKG when other hospitals will do a cat scan and endoscopy to see what’s going on. Not getting any kind of answers here and I’m very upset. Please avoid at all costs!!!!!!
