Flushing Hospital Medical Center: Mental Health Outpatient Clinic

The only thing I would suggest they work on is the staffs/secretaries sense of urgency. You can be standing for 10 min to sign in & they will just stare at you. If not I would of rated 5 stars.The psychiatrists & psychologists care about their patients. They follow up with you and if you any concerns or questions you can call them & speak directly. If you get a voicemail just leave a message and the doctors willl definitely speak with you.

From the very beginning we informed them that we did not want our son to be sent to Gracie Square Hospital in Manhattan because we had previously very bad experience. (And we showed them that we had Health Care Proxy). But they ignored everything, and they asked our son to sign without our knowledge. We spoke to the doctor that we did not want him to go to that specific hospital and they still kept pushing for that hospital. The social worker Yolanda was supposed to find another hospital, but she never called us back with any new information. Instead of the doctor or the social worker contacting us, our son called us to tell us they were ready to transport him to Gracie Square and there was nothing we could do. We're very upset with this whole situation that they ignored our rights from the Health Care Proxy to make the best choices for our son's mental health. (He could remember his bad experience there and make him feel worse.)

Rude, difficult, and you are never informed if your appointment is pushed back at the last minute. Psychiatrist was over an HOUR (yes an hour) late, didn’t send me a link for a virtual meeting (which is the mandatory format for interacting with patients) and just called me on my phone. She was horribly uninformed and ignorant, and it was frankly terrifying that her license wasn’t revoked (at least not yet). Staff ended up accidentally not registering my original appointment date TWICE, so it was pushed back over a month later. They did not bother informing me. They have no idea what they’re doing.

This is the worst service in the world I have been calling to make an appointment they said I have to speak with a coordinator I leave more than 10 messages to the “coordinator” and nobody call me back for the appointment. So if you read this don’t waste your time calling they don’t care about people.

Mental health services staff is incredibly rude. Appointments constantly get pushed back. As a parent of a parent and a patient myself I do not recommend
