My friend Johnson and I have been to this place to do exercise by playing basketball and that both of us had fun in there also did use equipment there to do run or walk around. Also, that there were people in there doing exercise too. The people in there were nice, friendly and helpful.

I want to leave a review on behalf of a family member who goes to the Flushing YMCA branch. This branch’s poor management and infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired. For context, the small pool generally has warmer water which is important and ideal for members with conditions like arthritis but it has frequently been subject to last-minute closures. The reason for this has been due to shortage of life guards. This has been happening for some time now and management should be able to fix this by simply hiring more lifeguards. Additionally, the water in the shower has always been cold. Overall, these issues should be able to easily be fixed

Dear YMCA Management Team, Hello, Although I am not sure who is currently responsible for managing the swim program and coaching staff, I feel it is necessary to raise serious concerns about the quality of instruction. The teaching quality of the swimming class that starts at 10:50 a.m. on Sundays is extremely disappointing. Some coaches show a lack of basic responsibility during class, spending much of the time sitting and waiting for the session to end instead of actively instructing the children. This has significantly affected the learning experience. All parents are paying for these lessons. This is not a free program. As a community-based non-profit organization, we sincerely hope the YMCA will continue to improve and uphold high standards, rather than providing careless and perfunctory instruction. We respectfully ask that the management team look into the Sunday 10:50 a.m. class and take appropriate action to improve the quality of teaching. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’m writing this review to bring attention to an ongoing issue that has not been properly addressed. The hot water in the women’s shower room has not been working for several months. This is extremely inconvenient, especially during cold weather. Today, because the women’s shower still had no hot water, we briefly used the girls’ locker room showers for about 5 minutes before the kids finished their swim class. During this time, a staff member and a parent yelled at us in a very rude and unprofessional manner, which was upsetting and unnecessary. If the women’s showers are not functional, then the girls’ shower room should be temporarily open to all women, especially in winter. Alternatively, the women’s shower must be repaired immediately. It is not reasonable or acceptable for hot water in the women’s shower to be broken for over a month with no solution. I hope management takes this issue seriously and improves both the facilities and staff communication.

The front desk waiter were extremely rude, the worst I've ever encountered. They acted as if someone in their family had just passed away. One male waiter member, who appeared to be of Southeast Asian descent, was particularly rude and disrespectful, even displaying racist behavior. The gym waiter and management covered for each other and never solved any problems for customers, Their solution to this problem was to cancel your membership without prior notice.
