Laura, the speech therapist, worked with my 80 year old father for his swallowing issue for the past two months. He was fed thru a peg tube and after diligently working with my father, his condition has improved where he is now able to ingest puree foods for one meal a day. I can't be more thankful of the skillfulness of her techniques, the consistency and the patience she has shown during these weeks.

Forest View Nursing Home has been a wonderful facility. The facility itself is very clean and well maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. Patients are encouraged to socialize and participate in activities, which is great to see and really enhances their quality of life. The food is also tasty and well prepared, which makes a big difference for patients. I especially want to highlight the outstanding work of Laura Accardi, the speech pathologist. Laura is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate in her approach. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients, tailoring therapy to meet individual needs while making them feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. Laura’s dedication and professionalism are evident in the progress she helps patients achieve, and her positive attitude makes a meaningful impact every day. Forest View is very fortunate to have such an exceptional speech pathologist on their team. I highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Laura at Forest View is truly exceptional. She is dedicated, consistently goes above and beyond, and often works late to make sure residents get the care they need. What sets her apart is that she genuinely cares, and it isn’t performative or routine for her. She shows up, listens, and advocates for her patients. For many residents, caring staff are all they have, and Dr. Laura is absolutely one of those people. Her concern, consistency, and compassion make a real difference.

Avoid Forest View Nursing Home at ALL COSTS. If you are even considering placing a loved one here, don’t. Turn around. Run. This facility is a disgrace and should not be trusted with the care of a houseplant, let alone a human being. The staff is visibly overworked, understaffed, and completely unable or unwilling to properly care for the residents. The neglect is overwhelming. The 6th floor permanently reeks of urine, and it’s obvious why: residents are not bathed regularly. I was told they are only allowed to bathe residents twice a week, and if a resident refuses once, they can go weeks without being cleaned. Instead of hygiene, staff relies on some kind of spray to mask the smell. That’s not care, that’s cruelty. My mother was not cared for in this facility. I stayed because she needed to be close to her hospital, not because this place deserved our trust. In hindsight, that decision haunts me. The administration is completely clueless and shockingly careless. Concerns are ignored. Complaints go nowhere. No one takes responsibility. My sister repeatedly pointed out an infection on my mother’s foot for weeks. Nothing was done. No urgency. No follow-up. No accountability. By the time anyone acted, it was too late. My mother passed away. Yes, there were other contributing factors, but had that infection been treated when it was first brought to the staff’s attention, my mother might still be alive today. Since her passing, dealing with Forest View has been just as appalling. I have called multiple times to figure out how to close out her case and retrieve her belongings. I asked to speak to a director. A manager. Anyone who might show basic human decency. Instead, I was met with indifference, disregard, and silence. This place doesn’t just fail its residents, it abandons them. If you leave your loved one here, you are gambling with their health, dignity, and life. Frankly, placing someone in this facility feels like giving up on them entirely. To make matters worse, my mother was found with a visible bruise on her face. When I questioned the staff about how this could have happened, I was told she “hit her face on the railing of the bed.” That explanation is completely unacceptable and insulting. I lived with my mother my entire life and personally cared for her overnight before she was placed in this facility. She barely moved in her sleep, if she moved at all, it was minimal. There is no plausible way she struck her face hard enough on a bed railing to cause this injury on her own. This raises serious concerns about supervision, handling, and honesty from the staff. Rather than providing accountability or transparency, I was given an explanation that defies common sense and only deepens my belief that my mother was neglected and possibly mishandled while under their care. Forest View Nursing Home is horrible. Neglectful. Inhumane. And utterly undeserving of anyone’s trust.
