Gentle Wash Laundromat - Manhattan

Been coming here for years. Lots of machines. Always very clean. Amazing staff. And is the most affordable place in East Village. I love this place so much. Their laundry service is also really great and always reliable.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the laundry pickup and delivery service with dry cleaning offered by Gentle Wash Laundromat, and I must say, I was highly impressed. The convenience of having my laundry and dry cleaning picked up and delivered right to my doorstep was a game-changer. It saved me so much time and effort, allowing me to focus on other important tasks without worrying about my laundry. The quality of the service was top-notch. My clothes came back fresh, clean, and neatly pressed. The attention to detail was evident in every garment, and I could tell that they took great care in handling my items. The communication from the Gentle Wash team was excellent. They kept me informed throughout the process, from pickup to delivery, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. Their professionalism and friendliness made the entire transaction a pleasure. I also appreciated the environmentally-friendly approach of Gentle Wash. They use gentle and eco-friendly detergents, which is a big plus for someone like me who values sustainability.

I had a horrible experience at this laundromat last Saturday. I brought in 8 small loads of laundry, 3 loads did not go in a dryer, yet I paid over $90.00 for those 8 small loads. That same amount of laundry costs $55.00 to clean and dry at another laundromat in the area. I had to wipe clean the glass and rubber on all the washers I used with Clorox wipes I had in my car. The glass and seals were covered in dirt, lint, hair, and mold. The washers cost $2.00 more per load than other laundromats, but the real scam is the dryers that cost $1.70 for 15 minutes but 1. it's not really 15 minutes because the dryers stop for 5 seconds every 30 seconds (I recorded it; total time not drying 2.5 minutes) and 2. they don't ever get hot even on "high." Five, thin towels took four dry cycles at $1.70 each cycle and I still left with wet towels and other items because I was ill from feeding $1.70 into dryers that didn't dry anything in a reasonable time. Over $90.00 for 8 loads of laundry, only 5 loads dried, is absolutely obscene and the owners only response was a $15.00 courtesy credit. I am a low-income student and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS GASLIGHTING: Their signs do show the cost of their washers and dryers, but four or more dry cycles at $1.70 per 12.5 minutes is OBSCENE. Their dryers do NOT get hot and it costs more to dry clothes thoroughly than it does to wash them in their overpriced washers. $15.00 for a load of self-service laundry is robbery even in NY. They know I cleaned all of the washers I used because they have cameras. Why would I have wasted my time, energy, and Clorox wipes if the washers were clean? This laundromat (and the delusional owners) is a scam.
