Greenwich Village PIANO LESSONS

My experience with Josh has been via zoom as I live in Mississippi. Josh is a delight as a person and piano teacher. He meets you where you are and is very patient and kind as you learn your piece. He is open to helping with any type of music you wish to play and has an in-depth knowledge of music theory. In addition, he will follow up your lessons by sending videos of his instruction for problem areas you are experiencing. I thoroughly enjoy my time with Josh and highly recommend him as a piano instructor.

Josh is just an excellent teacher. I know he's got adult students of all ages and skills (I've met a few!); I happen to be one of his older ones, a recent retiree looking to get some skills on an instrument my mother forced me to learn over fifty years ago in grade school. Remembering those teachers, I approached the lessons cautiously. I needn't have worried. Josh is obviously a talented musician; he's also a gifted teacher. He seems to know exactly what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong, and most importantly, WHY I'm doing something right or wrong. His instructions are clear, right to the point, and eye-opening. I actually love practicing--and I think that's due to Josh. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Josh is a fantastic piano teacher and an interesting and kind person. He adapts our lessons and his teaching to suit my individual skills, needs and desires. I was very doubtful and nervous about taking lessons for the first time as an older student. When I met Josh, my doubts disappeared. He is patient, caring and encouraging. Josh makes music fun and achievable. He combines creativity with an easy understanding of musical theory so that each lesson and practice session makes sense and is enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoy my time with Josh and am absolutely thrilled with my progress. I highly recommend him as a piano instructor.

Josh is a versatile and knowledgeable teacher who is amazing at adapting lessons to match the students needs. I started with Josh as a student lost between beginner and intermediate with the goal of learning more jazz and rock piano. After an initial lesson with Josh, it was evident he had the blueprint to get me back on track. His calm demeanor and conversational style makes learning easy and intuitive as he adapts complex lessons and theory to the students needs. After years feeling lost on the keys, Josh has helped me find passion, inspiration, and confidence again. Highly recommend.
