Guobaorou 锅包肉

It’s been a while since I’ve had a “first bite” as eye opening as these dishes had me. Every dish order was so EXCEPTIONAL I wanted to go back the next day. The fried intestine is INCREDIBLE! CLEAN, FLAVORFUL, CRISPY, OMG MOUTHWATERING. Typically restaurants would try to keep inventory and costs lower and use the same “accompanying vegetables” but they went to so far to charge the types of peppers should be paired with our next dish… The fried squid tentacles! It’s almost the same dish it was still so different! For flash fry and then flash stir fry the depth of flavor in the dish is ridiculous Now for the namesake GUO BAO ROU The most popular version of this dish is the Korean Chinese style Tangsuyuk, the same tapioca starch batter, but a traditionally flatter shape and THE SAUCE. HOLY COW RHE SAUCE. A sweet but EVIDENTLY SOUR dish. Crispy crunchy sour sweet hot, all sensations that made me question if I ever knew this dish to begin with.

I’ve experienced this restaurant food take out style and catered for company lunch on two occasions. The food tasted great and seemed authentic to the region. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to order at this restaurant on my own accord due to the large family style-like portions. Otherwise, a good choice is catering for a party.

Awesome! The eggplant was cooked to perfection along with the crispy pork. The cold noodle was also great! Sauce was perfectly blended and the cold skin noodles was perfectly tender. Refreshing on a hot day.

We found this place last Sunday evening after a day in the city. My girl wanted me to experience more authentic style food than I’m used to in Florida and I’m so glad that we found this restaurant, I always stay in Flushing and she lives very close to this restaurant and it was the perfect place for a second date! The food was absolutely amazing, fresh, well seasoned and enough to share from each dish! The service was great and the place is quite cozy, it was the first time here for both of us and on my next visit to Flushing we will definitely be returning!! I highly recommend Guo Bao Rou!!

Food was delicious and authentic (northeastern Chinese) and came fast. Portions are quite big.
