Came in to get my hair done after years of neglect and Yoona did an amazing job! Words cannot describe how happy I am with the result, although many people underestimate the significance of great hair, a good haircut can really change your quality of life. If you need to get a sick dye job and cut that perfectly frames your face, Yoona is your girl. I posted a before and after so you can see how talented she is!!

I’ve been going to Hair Philosophy since they first opened for over 10 years now, and I can’t recommend them enough! HP always does an amazing job with my haircut and coloring — professional, skilled, and really understands what looks best on me. I used to travel all the way to their SoHo location, so I’m so happy they opened in Long Island City! The whole team is friendly, easy to communicate with, and always makes me feel comfortable. Every visit is a great experience, and I always leave feeling refreshed and confident!

My first time at Hair Philosophy, Got hooked up with Yoona and literally feels like I found my nyc go-to stylist. Not only she makes the entire appointment felt comfortable professionally and mentally with the small talks and discuss and advice your hair-journey and future tips for your personal hair goals. Will definitely go back to Stylist Yoona Chen and Hair Philosophy. I bleached my hair and did balayage+baby Highlights. My hair was damaged before but Yoona carefully handled it and even tried her best to get the lightest color possible for my preference. That’s what I love about her, she would advise you openly about the conditions to keep your hair healthy while putting all in to match your inspo in a healthier version. Loveeeeeeee it!

I recently visited Hair Philosophy in Long Island City and had a wonderful experience. I went there for a scalp and hair treatment, and I could really feel how attentive and professional the stylist was. Before starting, they carefully checked my scalp and explained what kind of treatment would suit my hair condition, which made me feel very comfortable and taken care of. The whole process was very relaxing, especially the scalp massage. After the treatment, my hair felt incredibly soft, smooth, and shiny. It honestly looked healthier and had a beautiful natural glow. The salon itself is also very clean, modern, and beautifully designed. There’s even a stylish photo spot inside the salon which is perfect for pictures. The owner is from Taiwan and she is incredibly kind and gentle, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location in Long Island City is also very convenient to reach from Manhattan. After my appointment, I even grabbed a milk tea from the nearby Er Ye tea shop, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Hair Philosophy if you’re looking for a place that truly cares about hair and scalp care!

Loved my experience! I had Jonathan as my stylist, and he was so precise and intentional with my hair. After bleaching it for a while, my hair has become very dry, but he had lots of patience and made sure my hair came out as I wanted! The lady who did my wash was amazing as well!! The head massage was perfect and the chairs in the washing station were soo comfortable. Highly recommend coming here!
