Jiaoyue Lyu is a true professional and gifted teacher. My 6 yo daughter has studied music with her in a Mandarin language school for 2 years and continues private lessons now on piano and ukelele. She is a great communicator and was able to teach effectively over zoom for the past year. Classes are fun and challenging and she is friendly, energetic, and encouraging. Her new studio is clean and in a good location. She is well connected in the music world and organizes wonderful performance opportunities for the children. Highly recommend!

Jiao Jiao Laoshi is an amazing musician and teacher who has been teaching my two children since they were 5 (now 7&8). She is incredibly organized and versatile where she could manage teaching students with different musical instruments, i.e mine learnt music theories, piano and ukulele (all in Mandarin Chinese), not to mention participating in fun performances through “hello mandarin”. She’s also very enthusiastic and encouraging to her students with a great deal of patience. I had recommended her to many friends and they all love her!!

My daughter took Mandarin lessons with Ms. Lyu while she was a toddler. Ms. Lyu is wonderful with children and was an excellent and patient teacher. She made learning Mandarin so enjoyable for my daughter, incorporating games, music, toys and books. My daughter was always so excited to go to class and was picking up Mandarin very early on, thanks to Ms. Lyu!

My 8 yr old daughter really enjoyed piano over the summer with Ms. Lyu. She thought it was "super fun" (her words). She had a 45 minute lesson once a week and always came home and looked forward to practicing. My daughter feels she made great progress and we hope that next summer it can workout for more lessons. I can definitely recommend piano lessons with Ms. Lyu.

My 11-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter attended 'Hello, Mandarin!' for two years, where they received piano lessons. They thrived in an environment that fostered creativity and comfort, allowing them to learn at their own pace. My son, in particular, appreciated Ms. Lyu's teaching style. While they're musically inclined, they didn't aim for concert-level proficiency. Nevertheless, 'Hello, Mandarin!' accommodates students of all goals, whether for enjoyment or mastery. The only drawback is the limited schedule availability. I highly recommend this program.
