JCP Auto a Lifesaver (and professional and Courteous). While traveling on a 90°+ day for a vacation trip from Brooklyn to RI, our Hyundai Kona started overheating. We were lucky to find JCP Auto repair. We showed up late afternoon with no appointment and Chris didn’t bat an eye. He explained what he could do and fit us in immediately. (And with family and a dog, we really appreciated the air conditioned waiting room). Chris’ team diagnosed the issue running first the “simple tests” until they ruled out problems of a broken fan or coolant leak. They recommended a replacement thermostat , but with none in stock for a Kona, Chris called around and finally found a Hyundai OEM part which they picked up, installed, and tested — causing the team to stay one hour past closing. Prices were fair and all options and estimates were provided before the work — so no surprises. The repair fixed outlet issues and we were able to get to our destination with 4 more hours of trouble-free highway driving. 5 stars. And a big thank-you.

When I finally picked up the car, I found out they had replaced the headlights without informing me and charged me a hefty amount for something I didn’t authorize. I had a disappointing experience at [Shop Name]. I brought my car in for a routine check-up, and they told me that I needed to replace a part that was supposedly worn out. They quoted me $500 for the repair. Fortunately, I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic, who confirmed that the part was in perfect condition and didn’t need replacing at all. It felt like they were trying to upsell unnecessary services. I would advise anyone to be cautious when dealing with this shop and always get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive repairs. Very untrustworthy.
