金丰大酒楼（唐人街店）

Today was my first time visiting Chinatown in New York, and I randomly walked into an old-school dim sum place. Surprisingly, everything was delicious! They still use the classic dim sum cart service, with stacks of bamboo steamers rolling by, all piping hot — it really feels like stepping into a traditional Cantonese tea house. 🥟 Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings): Thin, delicate wrapper with bouncy, juicy shrimp. 🥬 Spinach & Seafood Dumplings: Soft, tender skin that doesn’t break, generously filled, fresh taste. 🍲 Chicken Feet, Tripe, Rice Noodle Rolls: All very solid and reliable—no misses at all. Overall, the place looks a bit old-school, but it’s clean, lively, fast-paced, and full of that authentic street-food energy. Prices are quite reasonable for New York. Perfect for anyone craving traditional Hong Kong–style dim sum and wanting to experience the classic “dim sum cart” vibe!

The new location is smaller than the original. I got arrived in the original which was huge. The food was excellent and very authentic. Atmosphere was good and so was the service. I would definitely add this place to have dinner. The Peking duck was crispy, the steak was tender, lobster fresh and noodle were terrific.

Came here to try their dim sum. Wasn't too crowded and we ordered several dishes all of which came out hot and had good taste. Food service prices have gone up significantly so be prepared to pay more for less.

The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are too sweet and the dumpling skin is too thick I had to spit it out. The pan fried dumplings also had the same issue where the dumpling skin was too thick. Everything was honestly not up to what I’ve expected. Over hyped. I was excited for the Shrimp Rice Noodles but it was also so-so. Probably wouldn’t visit again :( The duck was very delicious though!

I went in with an open mind despite the incredibly chaotic and loud atmosphere, just in case the food was actually good as someone in my party had apparently seen it on some show. If you’ve never had dimsum before and have no other comparison, then maybe it’ll be interesting for you. But if you’re someone who enjoys dimsum, then this will be a 30-min wait’s disappointment. Tried some dishes from the cart, even those that aren’t pictured such as the shrimp rice noodles — decent at best, cold and unappetizing in general. The siu mai was the only thing that was not flat-out underwhelming. I’m usually a big fan of hot and sour soup, but my whole party agreed the one here was not it. At least they knew not to trust that show again. The price is really cheap though.
