Kam Man Market in Chinatown is a great spot if you're looking for a wide variety of Chinese products all in one place. They have everything from snacks and sauces to kitchenware and teas. One of the highlights is definitely the fresh roasted meats—everything from duck to pork, and it all smells amazing as soon as you walk in. It’s a solid go-to if you’re stocking up on Chinese groceries or just want something freshly made to eat.
This is an awesome place for getting kitchenware! There are high quality items from Japan and China with very reasonable prices. Great service helping me wrap up some bowls before a flight for carrying on.
Love this spot. Such an incredible selection of Asian grocery products - every sauce and snack you can think of. Plus teas and beautiful bowls and plates in the lower level. Bonus: Cute basement tabby cat sometimes comes out and says hi.
I stopped by Kam Man Market today and found many items that helped me make small but noticeable improvements to my kitchen and organization. Everyone knows how that could be with a growing family. I invested in some higher quality dinner utensils I was unable to find elsewhere for the same price. Most vendors sell them in larger sets but here I was able to tailor it to my needs. I also found some large porcelain soup spoons. Perfect for when we have soup noodles at home. Also a very unique rack that served perfectly for my bamboo cutting board (a gift) and chopsticks. It keeps the cutting board lifted to dry and free from mold and also keeps the chopsticks from falling to the side which happens all too often. A very ergonomic design I haven’t seen in all my shopping at other vendors. I bought a little dust pan and brush for minor countertop messes I make from scooping formula repeatedly. And an affordable thermos for trips with the baby. Also, if youre looking to clean the lime or residue from your hot water dispenser it’s here! I tried to order it from Amazon and it took so long from Japan they canceled it. I was very surprised to see it here. Finally I also saw metalic exercise balls for the hand that I haven’t in many years. I quickly added it to my basket along with incense. after buying I also saw that it is perfect for meditation and relaxation as well. I quickly integrated these items to my new home and they all work great. I’m pleased with my purchases and was not disappointed. I will continue to add to my collection from their wide assortment of dinnerware. Again all at competitive prices!
If you're in Chinatown, New Kam Man Supermarket on Canal Street is a must-visit for anyone who loves Asian food and culture. It’s not just any market—New Kam Man holds the distinction of being the first Chinese supermarket in the United States. The front roast meat counter is a neighborhood favorite. Grab a box of one or two meats over rice for just $9—crispy roast pork, char siu, soy sauce chicken—hot, flavorful, and perfect for an easy lunch or no-cook dinner. Inside, you'll find a treasure trove of Asian snacks, from Korean chips to Japanese treats that are cheaper than at most Japanese convenience stores in Manhattan. It's easy to get lost in the aisles of goodies. Downstairs, explore an impressive assortment of Chinese teas. If you're lucky, Mr. Chen, the owner, might be there to walk you through which teas help with digestion, sleep, or boosting energy. It’s like stepping into a living encyclopedia of tea culture. Home chefs will appreciate the wall of high-quality knives, steamers, and kitchen tools, plus shelves stocked with every Asian condiment you could imagine—soy sauce, chili crisp, fish sauce, black vinegar, and more. New Kam Man is more than a supermarket—it’s a hub for food, culture, and history. Whether you’re shopping for ingredients, grabbing a quick meal, or just soaking in the atmosphere, it’s Chinatown at its finest.
