The cream teokkboki is my favorite! Ordered on UberEats before and also picked up one time. Either way the food always stays hot even after being outside for a while. Service is pretty fast.
Finally hit up Kim Ganaeny, a casual Korean Bunsik joint in Flushing. I got the cheese ramen it was fire. It totally hit the spot, and the price point is great for NYC. My server Leo, was quick enough with the refills, even though the restaurant was packed. This place is solid for high quality Korean fusion comfort food.
I didn't realize that I've been to their Flushing location 6 years ago until I searched my photo library for this review. This location is in the food court inside Hmart LIC. It was grand-opened in May. And luckily the 30% grand opening discount continued to get extended for a couple of months, so it was a no brainer for me to visit every time I was in town during this period: - Curry Pork Cutlet $17. Nice big platter size plate, but the pork was bland and the curry had no heat. It was a disappointment. - Jolmyun Dukbokki $12. Dukbokki with glass noodle in the mix. It was better than expected and not as spicy as it looked. Good. - Seafood Udon $14. Clear broth with prawns, fish cakes, and clams. Not bad. But I'd have Seafood Ramyun instead. - Seafood Ramyun $12. Spicy and additive broth with lots of octopus, some clams and 1 prawn. Definitely recommend this over the Seafood Udon: better texture, more kicks, and $2 cheaper to boot. - Pork Cutlet Udon $14. This is better than the Curry Pork Cutlet. At least the cutlet was hot and crispy and the udon soup was comforting. Not bad. Prices are before 30% discount. Service can be slow, particularly for soupy dishes which can take 25 minutes without line. You can return your tray etc in the back of the food court next to the bakery.
Food is pretty decent. I had the squid over rice, but I think it’s alittle too salty for my taste good thing it came with some soup to wash it down. It comes with corn, little bit of salad and yellow pickles. They had 30% off for grand opening so it wasn’t too bad. You can get a meal for $10-$12. They stay really busy during lunch time. The place usually always packed and no where to sit. Take advantage of the 30% off when you can.
Korean street food style counter service restaurant inside the H-Mart. Plenty of seating. The spicy tuna kimbap was good, also had the fish cutlets. Don't expect it to be amazing, it is decent.
