KINKA

KINKA is a wonderfully curated plant and gift store. It offers little tchotchkes, planters, gardening accessories, as well as handmade ceramics by local artisans and the owner herself (the propagation cone pictured here was made by her). KINKA also offers a variety of local services like kokedama and terrarium workshops, food tastings, farmer programs, and more. The shop displays are charming, so it's worth a visit even if you don't consider yourself a plant person.

I was looking to replace my matcha set and I wanted to purchase it at a shop rather than online. I saw that Kinka in the east village had what I needed. Got to meet with the owner, Ms. EunYoung and she was quite sweet and entertaining. I shared with her my experience with traditional matcha,, having experienced it many many years ago when I visited my classmate and his wife in Tokyo. Also I mentioned my selection of matcha which I order from overseas. She mentioned that there was a shortage ( from those who prefer to drink a matcha latte instead) and I said that probably doesnt affect me as i had stocked up on matcha during Black Friday last year and only consume a cup a day. I highly recommend visiting Kinka.

"Kinka is such an adorable shop!! It's an oasis of the city, and an incubator for creativity and positive vibes. Peace and love can be felt even before one enters. Plenty of beautiful well-taken care of plants and flowers!! They have X'mas ornaments, witty and cards, ( Some are made by the owner!) quality candles and soaps, pottery items, chocolate, puzzles, etc...... Basically, a great store to pick up one of a kind products for anyone. Staff are so kind, attentive, and you can tell that they really put their hearts on each item there. My son and I had such a relaxing time there and we’d love to go back soon! "

2025 —- So in love with this space; so many amazing workshops I experienced (via Eventbrite) and met so many interesting people also. It’s always something fun. I also do most of gift and plant shopping here. 2023 —- Love this place! Besides all the green plants owners Eunyoung and Tom beautifully displayed; there are also so many unique gifts. It’s always a lovely visit ❣️ Also love that they offer such variety classes from flower arrangements, movie night, to make kimchi and more. Such a gem❣️❣️

It’s a lovely store run by friendly people. I got a very unique and pretty plant here for a reasonable price that I haven’t seen sold anywhere else in person. However, it did have a case of mites so I would just remind other buyers to remember to quarantine your new plants!
