Yummy authentic Shanghainese cuisine. Really enjoyed the scallion oil noodles and the Crab + Shrimp tofu dish. The hot tea was aromatic and quite good as well.
Love this place! It’s a cozy, nostalgic Shanghai restaurant with some great Sichuan options too. The food is always delicious — full of color, aroma, and flavor. Can’t wait to come back!

Lao Ke Le Shanghai Cuisine is a cozy and welcoming restaurant that captures the comforting traditions of Shanghainese food. We started with the crab and pork soup dumplings 蟹粉小笼包, an iconic Jiangnan dish dating back to the 19th century in Nanxiang near Shanghai. Each dumpling was filled with minced pork and aspic that melted into hot, savory broth, while the addition of crab meat and roe added natural sweetness and briny richness. The wrappers were thin yet sturdy, holding the soup perfectly and delivering that signature burst of flavor in every bite.
The pork and glutinous rice siu mai 糯米烧卖 was a heartier take on a dim sum classic, with sticky rice making the dumpling more substantial and chewy. The combination of savory pork and glutinous rice reflects regional traditions where rice-based fillings symbolize comfort and abundance. The pan-fried noodles with shrimp and crab meat sauce showcased another Shanghainese hallmark fresh seafood in richly flavored sauces. The noodles had a pleasant contrast of crispy edges and soft center, soaking up a glossy, umami-rich crab and shrimp sauce with layers of sweetness and depth.
We also tried the classic pork soup dumplings, available through their spend $30 get selected items for $1 promotion. While simpler than the crab version, they still delivered the essentials savoury pork filling, thin wrappers, and hot broth that made them very satisfying.
Pricing is reasonable for the quality and the $1 promotion adds good value, though portions lean on the smaller side, so big eaters might need to order a few more dishes to feel fully satisfied. Still, the flavors are authentic, the food feels carefully prepared, and the cozy setting makes it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu.
Clean and modern Cantonese restaurant, food is great, lots of choices. Staff are friendly but Service is slow, they forgot some of our orders. Price in high side. If you’re in area/ mall it’s an option.
We tried Lao Ke Le Shanghai Cuisine and the place has a fun old-Shanghai vibe — neon signs, lanterns, even a rickshaw.
The food was pretty good overall. They also gave us some soup dumplings, which was nice, but the skin was a bit dry.
Overall, a good spot if you’re in the mood for Shanghainese dishes.
