I’ve been going here for years, and would never dare go any place else in NYC! Seriously the best, and the prices are very reasonable. Mustafa does amazing work - from re-lining the entire interior of my leather jacket (sourcing the material himself) to cutting open a dress and adding in a full multi button opening. He always thoroughly looks at a garment to ensure he is making the best recommendation and he’s never done me wrong with the dozens of items he’s altered for me over the years. 100/10.
I need my Motorcycle club west patches to be placed accordingly and used another tailor in NJ but it was a disaster. When i showed him my west and asked him what i really want all he said was “ Can you give me 20 min” seriously. Other tailor asked 3 days do mess up and he just did not fix everything he basicly made an art. Just earned life time customer 🙏🙏🙏🙏
The conversation between customers inside Mostafa’s shop is usually about how long we’ve been going there and how much trust we have in him. The basics are a given within a neighborhood of many competing tailor shops. But his styling is what really stands out. It’s an art to know trends in fashion and then how to achieve them. Lengths, widths, tightness, bring him a suit off the rack or from the back of your closet and he will know how to make it look right. And the best way to do it. Even if you’re not so sure yourself. I tease him he might also call the shop ‘The Jean Surgeon’ Keeping your holes in favorite old falling apart jeans secure and perfectly distressed.
I hate to leave bad reviews, especially to small businesses but this entire service was very disappointing. I paid $30 for an invisible hem and when I came back to pick up, the hem was not an invisible hem. Obviously unhappy with the job, I asked if he could please redo the hem and explained I’d have to pay more on top of what I had already paid for it to be in fact, invisible. Poor work, and even worse customer service. And expensive.
