Les Gateaux de Marie

Marie did a wonderful job with our wedding cake! She was always quick to respond and made the whole process so easy. She offered a complimentary cake tasting at her shop, which helped us choose the perfect flavor — a mixed berry cake that was perfect for our late-summer wedding. Marie was also kind enough to gift us the top tier of our cake, which we took home and froze. We’ve been enjoying a slice every now and then, and it still tastes just as amazing after thawing! We couldn’t be happier with how beautiful and delicious our cake turned out. Highly recommend! Thank you Marie!

I had the privilege of being the content creator at a wedding Marie created the cake for. This cake was not only LOVED by my camera, the guests adored it too. The cake was beautiful and smelled so delicious my mouth was watering the whole time. Not only that, Marie is so gracious and wonderful to work with. I have been a guest at many weddings and sampled quite a few pieces of wedding cake, but the cake that Maria at Les Gateaux de Marie prepared for my wedding three weeks ago was without a doubt the most extraordinary one that we have ever eaten. See the attached photos. But before it became the final course at our post-ceremony wedding dinner, my wife and I must have come into the bakery five or six times, each time with a new request: Make it bigger. Add marzipan. Less chocolate and more mocha. Add another tier to the cake. Deliver it to this address. And to each change, Marie was receptive and not in the least taken aback by the flurry of alterations. Where else can you get this kind of customer service? I’m pretty sure that there are a number of places in Manhattan where you may order a wedding cake. And plenty of them will even be good. But Les Gateaux de Marie is a unique and exceptional bakery, and we recommend them without hesitation. Oh and even if you’re not in the market for a Custom wedding cake, they offer a variety of European and American cakes and pies and desserts and pastries. It’s the best thing on First Avenue!

Marie did a magnificent job making a special birthday cake. She perfectly executed complicated orchid flowers and a newspaper front page. She really went out of her way. My guests were bowled over. And the cake was one of the best I've ever tasted.

The cake was absolutely delicious and beautifully done! I was amazed of the red velvet cake that we ordered because there’s nothing that compares. Whether it’s a slice or a whole cake this place is a must go to for every event. The customer service is amazing from “in store” to the “delivery service”.
