I’ve known Dr. Libby Rhee for over a decade now, and there is truly no one I would trust more with my face than her. 😊 Dr. Rhee is incredibly smart, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, answers every question with patience, and makes you feel completely at ease. She is warm, caring, and genuinely invested in her patients — and never, ever pushy. You always feel guided, not sold to. Her expertise is unmatched, but what really sets her apart is her integrity and bedside manner. Dr. Rhee is incredibly knowledgeable and truly cares about her patients. Dr. Rhee, along with her incredible staff, never leave me feeling like “just another appointment” on the books. I have been a patient of Dr. Rhee for over 6 years. She has helped me transform my skin to be acne free and flourishing. The receptionists are amazing as well. They are so kind, prompt, willing to help or answer any questions you may have. If you are having a hard time find a great dermatologist or aesthetics treatments, this is where you want to be. You won’t regret it!

I have known Dr. Rhee since the early 2010s, when she worked at Bobby Buka Dermatology (now Dermatology and Skin Specialists). As someone who struggled with adult acne, I consistently spoke very highly of her and referred friends, colleagues, and anyone who asked me about my skin. Even after moving out of New York, I traveled hours into the city to continue my care—that is how much trust and loyalty I had. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with the front desk and office management at Liora Dermatology have been deeply disappointing. I take accountability for rescheduling appointments in the past due to work conflicts. However, there were multiple instances where I called ahead to let the office know I would be running 10–15 minutes late and was still refused care upon arrival, while being charged a $150 fee. In one instance, I was forced to interact with an office manager who was rude and condescending, and it was clear that the staff were discussing me behind my back. I was later informed that I am no longer allowed to book appointments online because the practice is charged a fee when patients do so. While I take accountability, I have never encountered this issue with any other medical practice. Additionally, no show fees had been waived for me in the past, but to charge a no-show fee when the patient shows up? This made the sudden rigidity of these policies feel inconsistent and targeted. On another visit, I was told very loudly at the front desk that the doctor would not see me until an unexpected balance was paid. The lack of discretion was humiliating, and someone from the back had to intervene and handle the matter privately. The final incident involved a 5:00 PM follow-up appointment. I spent the entire afternoon confirming insurance information and clearly told the associate I would be about 15 minutes late. I was explicitly told it was fine. As the doctor sees the last patient at 5:50. My husband and I then drove over an hour into the city, only for me to be called at 5:19 PM while I was just pulling up and was told I was too late, the doctor would not see me, and I would be charged another $150 fee—even after the associate admitted she gave me incorrect information. As a Black woman, I am very aware of how easily calm communication can be misread as “attitude.” I made every effort to remain respectful, yet I repeatedly felt met with dismissive, combative energy at Liora. I am deeply saddened that a doctor I once trusted is now associated with such an unprofessional office culture. I will be taking my care elsewhere. Being money hungry is not a flex, it’s just sad, as it’s not about the patient at all, but about profit. Smh.
