Amazing find! Authentic Chinese skewers and Sichuan pickles. They have lamb spine hot pot for winter, Karaoke rooms, and are open late. Great beer selection. Very convenient location near the station. Highly recommend!
Fresh and tasty!! This is the best BBQ place I have in Flushing!!! Definitely, we will come back soon!
We had dinner at “He Diu Yi Zhi Xie” (Lost a Shoe) in Flushing and it was a great experience. The place has a fun exam-themed menu, but the food is seriously good. We ordered the lamb soup, grilled beef skewers, lamb skewers, lamb kidney, scallops, pork belly skewers, chives, and stir-fried clams with chili. Everything was flavorful, especially the lamb dishes and seafood — fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant has a casual and lively atmosphere, perfect for a late-night meal or drinks with friends. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend the lamb soup and grilled skewers. Definitely a great spot for anyone who loves authentic Chinese-style barbecue in Flushing.
Such a fun late-night spot in Flushing! I came across Lost Shoes Chinese Barbecue and happened to visit during their anniversary event — got the Spicy Crab for $9.9 🦀 and drinks for $1.99! The food was seriously delicious — the crab was flavorful and spicy, perfectly paired with soda or beer. We also tried the bullfrog & fish pot (huge portion, super tender, not too spicy if you pick mild) and some grilled skewers — everything came hot and fresh. The place has big private rooms, perfect for group dinners or birthdays. Menu design is so creative 😂 and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend coming while the promo lasts!
Came here on a recommendation and drove a long way to visit. Since we were already in Flushing, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the effort. The Food: The BBQ follows a Northeastern (Dongbei) / Korean-influenced style, leaning heavily on the sweeter side. If you’re looking for authentic, spicy Sichuan-style skewers, this isn’t it. Quality-wise, it was a hit-or-miss: the grilled green peppers were charred/burnt, and the "Cold Beef" was incredibly tough and hard to chew. Honestly, I’ve had better street food on 39th St for a fraction of the cost. The Price: We paid $200 for two people (including tip). Coming from Pennsylvania, this felt quite steep. While I understand NYC prices have risen, the value-to-quality ratio just wasn't there. Service & Atmosphere: Service was efficient but lacked warmth (3 stars). The ambiance was a bit chaotic; we sat next to a very loud group, and the tables seemed designed for hotpot rather than skewers, making the setup feel awkward. Final Verdict: It’s a "3-star" spot for Flushing standards—mediocre here, though it might be considered high-end in a city with fewer options. I wouldn't make a special trip back, but it's okay for a casual bite if you're already in the area. Wishing the business the best of luck and a Happy New Year!
