Me and my brother were looking for a new apartment, they rented us a basement apartment which they assured us was a legal apartment. Moving forward, we move in and a couple of moths after the owner, comes and tells us we need to move some things around because the city Is going to inspect the apartment. We go ahead and listen, a few days later I woke up to my apartment flooded and I was surpiresed I call the real estate agent and acts like she’s surprised. She comes and checks and says she’s going to fix it, someone comes and supposedly fixes the problem a couple of DAYS later the water comes back again... I call her again and complains, “we fixed it already what’s wrong?” She comes again and I start speaking to neighbors they tell me that this is not the first time the apartment gets flooded.. We went over some damages which she promised she would pay, after I gave her the whole rent. I decided enough was enough. We spoke to a lawyer only to find out that the apartment we were living in was illegal, it also had black mold growing behind the painted house. Once I showed her paper work that this apartment was illegal was when she decided she was going to give up some money back.. we got all our money back plus damages only because a lawyer was involved. Please don’t go with these people they are liars they abuse people’s pockets.
