After searching for a long time, I finally found the hot pot. Being in a foreign country, I really miss the taste of home. It's very delicious and satisfying.

They have really limited selection of ingredients you could pick to throw into your mala pot. But at least the taste is ok and looks clean. Average service and average atmosphere, just a place to grab quick lunch.

Mala Siblings is a pretty decent spot if you’re craving hot pot and want a casual meal. The flavors are okay—not the best I’ve had, but still satisfying enough. One thing that surprised me in a good way was that they actually offered plain bone soup, which is a nice alternative for those who don’t want the usual heavy, spicy base. That said, the self-serve food area where you pick your own ingredients could definitely use some improvement. It wasn’t kept very clean or tidy, which took away from the overall experience. A bit more attention to cleanliness and presentation would go a long way in making the place more enjoyable. Overall, it’s fine for a quick hot pot fix, but it wouldn’t be my top choice given the competition around.

Today my friend and I went to buy mala xiang guo (spicy hot pot). There were a lot of staff, but they were really unreliable. We waited more than 30 minutes for our takeout. Actually, when our order was ready, we saw it, but since no one called the order number, we thought it wasn’t ours. (When it was served, a tall guy took it from the kitchen window and handed it to a thin girl at the front desk. That girl just put the order on a table inside without calling out the number.) After waiting a long time, we finally went to ask, and it turned out that order was ours. We ended up waiting an extra ten minutes. All the staff were chatting at the front instead of working. It was really frustrating because we were so hungry.

The food was very unhygienic and I found a fly in their food. I was starving after get off work and went to order. My order number was 155. I waited for 23 minutes. Order numbers 157 and 162 were ready, but mine was not. Then I asked if I could refund the order if my order was not yet served. The cashier saw that I wanted to refund the order and she immediately gave me my order. I took it home, opened it, and ate two bites before I ate a fly.
