This is our go-to Japanese restaurant in Forest Hills. The service has always been attentive and friendly. The food is always fresh and exquisite. They have a diverse selection of rolls and we've never been disappointed. Their tofu age is so good that I clandestinely drink the broth when no one is looking. Even their simplest dishes are perfectly seasoned and wonderful. We come here often and are always happy with our meal and dining experience.
This place was great. The food was top notch and service even better. Sat down and our table was rocking a bit, without even asking the staff came over and fixed it. Service was pretty quick. Will definitely come back and eat here. Only complaint I have is the tip options on the charge machine were 18%, 22%, and 25%. There should be the standard 20% option imo. Pretty small issue but I wanted to mention it.
The food is absolutely delicious , they have a pretty big bar menu as well. I love their rolls especially the hulk , spider man and spicy salmon. The place really pays homage to Japan. The bartender is awesome, this is my go to sushi place.
I HATE to do this but I have to stay true to my honest ways of food review... The food was bad...very bad. I'll say the best came in the beginning and the end. Miso soup was 100% amazing. Not salty nor bland. The matcha cheese cake was very good too...however, I didn't go there for the soup and dessert. Rice on our rolls were not cooked well, the salmon was brown in color. They had a special roll costing over $20 but didn't state the ingredients so my monkey self was curious and order it. Consisted of mango, stale fried tempura and tobiko on top. With again, bad rice. Why I feel so bad is because the owner is so genuine and nice. The staff is also very welcoming and fun to interact with. I never lie on my reviews and that's why people read my stuff. Fix the food. I know you can.
I’m writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a series of recent experiences at your restaurant, which used to be one of my all-time favorites. 1. Excessive Wait Time on My Birthday (July 22): On my birthday, we waited over 40 minutes (was bot a peak time tho) for our sushi. Instead of an apology, we were met with a sarcastic remark from the staff and were only offered a complimentary salad or soup. By the time the food arrived, we were already late for our next destination. 2. Attempted Use of Discount Cards: A few days later, I attempted to place an online order using one of the many $10 discount cards I had received from your restaurant. I scanned the QR code from the card and placed the order through your website, which was still functional. 3. Inconsistent and Unclear Communication: Despite accessing the website successfully, I was told over the phone that your website had been “shut down” and that my discount was no longer valid. This was not communicated to customers beforehand, and I was confused as to why such a decision wasn’t transparently shared. 4. Unprofessional Customer Service: The staff member I spoke with was dismissive and borderline rude. When I politely asked why these discount cards were still being distributed if they weren’t usable, I received no explanation—only a cold “there’s nothing I can do” attitude. 5. Order Cancellation and Emotional Impact: Due to the poor service and tone of the conversation, I ultimately cancelled my order. I’m very saddened by this entire experience because your restaurant used to be a place I genuinely loved and recommended to others. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to improve customer communication and service moving forward.
