A great place to buy some high end quality fish to get the healthy omega flowing through your blood stream. Came hear a couple of times and haven't been disappointed. Chilean Sea Bass is the best I have eaten as far as fish is concerned. Meaty, flaky and very few bones. Got to ding them a star on the cost and the scales that were throughly scrapped off.

New Star Fish Market is a medium-sized seafood market, located in the Essex Market. this market has a variety of fresh fish, shrimp, and more to buy by the pound. you can buy whole fishes, fillets, etc. fish variety is pretty standard: salmon, porgy, tilapia, etc. you can buy raw shrimp and shell/devein them at home—or you can buy them cleaned at a higher price. New Star looks very clean and the fish market is not fishy-smelling at all. recently i bought some shrimp to grill and was totally happy i did. the shrimp quality-wise tasted way better than frozen raw shrimp outta the bag. shelling and deveining took a little bit of time but it’s all worth it if you are cooking. as using fresh ingredients make all the difference in a dish. the prices are good and comparable to any fish market in the city. the staff if efficient. drops mic cuz nothing fishy is going on here
