By appointment only, and mainly on Sundays (and sometimes Fridays) but great teas. Would recommend coming, then grabbing a bite nearby. This location will soon change to Manhattan but the founder of the New York Tea Society is very responsive about inquiries and is very welcoming to everyone with any interest in learning and drinking tea. Great substitute for anything who needs a calm fun sunday, or needs an alternative to other more harmful substances. Fun for the mind and body.

Today we revisited a NYTS Virtual Club tea, the 2017 Kun Lu Shan Sheng Pu'er. This tea is an affordable opportunity to enjoy the elegance, power, rich complex bouquet and palate, mouthfeel, and Cha Qi that 100-300 year old trees are able to provide.

Roy from NY Tea Society hosted a wonderful virtual tea tasting for a small corporate event of mine. He was communicative through the set up process, sent high quality teas, and was able to accommodate the brewing process to match what equipment our group had available. The tasting was full of interesting historical and scientific information about each tea, while being super open and patient with any of our many questions! Thank you Roy for sharing your vast knowledge and passion with us!

Roy sources exceptional teas often from remote areas, shares extensive tea education and his personal tea trips, and cultivates a beautiful heart-based community of dedicated tea lovers from all over the globe. NYTS has so much to recommend, not least of which is the option to participate in virtual tastings if you’re not a local. Roy is a gifted storyteller with an uncommon ability to magnetize an audience. You’ll learn something new regardless of how long or brief your time drinking tea has been—and the knowledge will stick because he makes it so enjoyable to explore. NYTS offers teas from around the world as one of their focuses is to encourage curiosity and build breadth of experience. The teas are all personally sourced from/developed with farmers with whom Roy has cultivated years-long relationships. My favorite thing about NYTS events has been the variety of inspiring and kind people I’ve met. There’s something about a down-to-earth teahouse that draws interesting folks together. Events and memberships are affordable, accessible (physically and virtually), varied, and fun. If you have a chance, I also highly recommend the amazing tea-themed potlucks and other food events. 5 - I can’t think of a single detriment and deeply recommend trying them out. Despite relocating abroad, I still join their virtual meets and regularly connect with NYTS members overseas ❤️
