Delicious selection of sweet and savory buns, cake rolls, and onigiri for $2-3. The pineapple bun and wasabi salmon onigiri are some of the best I’ve ever had. The shrimp tempura and butter chicken onigiri are also very good. Although Ohayo is a takeaway spot, the staff is incredibly friendly. Highly recommend!

There was a celebration going on for the lunar new year so many people were around the area. I gestured to the worker what I wanted to get just in case there might be a language barrier, one of the employees were kind and guided me on how to get the bread and checkout. Though my appearance was quite contrasting to the shop, there wasn't any change in disposition which made me feel relieved. The oreo bread was nice and soft, not too sweet and the filling wasn't overbearing. Thank you for your service.

Ohayo! Amazing bakery that stands out against the other bakeries on 8th Ave from its offerings - unique bread (including the charcoal spam and egg, green tea bread with mochi and red beans) and a vast selection of onigiri service was quick and efficient as per standard on 8th Ave and card is accepted without a minimum (afaik) Spam 🍙 - 4/5 the entire rice ball is well seasoned, which is a pleasant surprise! However it was a little dry. Salmon Teriyaki 🍙 - 3.5/5 Good distribution of salmon across the entire rice ball. Taste is good. However due to the strong canned salmon fishy smell I cannot rate it higher. Whitefish/fried fish 🍙 - 4/5 the filling is concentrated in the center because it’s one piece of fish. But the taste is very good. I see why this is almost always sold out or down to the last few. Charcoal Spam & Egg bun - 4/5 definitely stands out and I got it the first time for the novelty of a dark bun but the taste of the charcoal bread itself is not my favorite. 5/5 aesthetic and 3/5 taste. Matcha Mochi Red Bean Bun - 5/5 very yummy no notes Tuna cheese bun - 5/5 bread is light and airy. I didn't taste any cheese but it was still very good. Have not tried their drink offerings. Can't wait to come back here and sample the rest of their menu 😋

I always arrive here around 7:20am. I pick up Tuna and Spam since the purple rice salmon onigiri is sold out by this time. When I purchase my flavors, the onigiri is still warm. Best place for onigiri at a good price. The meat to rice ratio is perfect Other places charge $4+ for just rice. Haven’t tried their drinks or breads yet.

Ohayo Bread House is my go-to spot for quick lunch in 8 Avenue, Brooklyn. This is where you can get a filling meal for less than $3. They have more than 25 flavors of riceballs according to my observation, including spam musubi. On the other side, they display freshly baked bread and egg tarts. They also have a full menu of drinks. ＊Butter Chicken Onigiri $2.75 Their onigiri is large and dense, but of course it has way more rice than filling at this price point. I have been eyeing their butter chicken onigiri for a while, and it turned out to be my favorite. The sauce was flavorful. Although there wasn’t a lot of shredded chicken, it was enough to eat with the rice till my last bite. ＊Purple Rice Crab Salad Onigiri $2.75 ＊Octopus Salad Onigiri $2.75 The purple rice onigiri was still warm when I got it! The texture of purple rice was nice but the amount of crab salad was underwhelming, so as the octopus salad one. ＊Cranberry Cream Cheese Bun $2.75 They had a lot of baked goods that interested me, like coconut coffee roll, dragonfruit mochi bun and black sesame chestnut roll (sold out when i visited). I got my hands on their cranberry cream cheese bun. The bread size was bigger than my palm. Such a shame that there was only less than 10% filling but it was still a good price afterall. ***Get a discount if you pay in cash.
