Optimum Wash Laundromat

Today was laundry day in Brooklyn and this place is great. Reasonable prices for the machines, big and spacious and very clean with attendants there to help.

It’s definitely hit or miss but for small loads this place is great. Most of the times I just wash my North Face jacket here during the winter, it’s fine. Though I can also confirm the dryers take forever to heat up. My bet they are set to lowest settings to save on energy costs due to the high rents in NYC. Laundromats are notorious for eating quarters since way back but now it’s even more likely. 4/5 stars for me close to being a 5 if they brought back the Marvel Vs Capcom arcade machine in the back. lol Yes that’s another reason why I used to stop by here too. Also a nice little cafe in the back nice touch. They honestly have a very spacious laundromat let’s not fool ourselves, other places are crammed. Plus if you’re doing big loads good luck not getting into frustrations with other people doing loads in a smaller laundromat. If they fixed/updated their machines, brought back some nicer arcade machines in the back. New paint polish here, and there… this place honestly would be a 5 star laundromat easy but due to them not seeing their own potential. It sits at 4 or 3 stars depending on your experience that day, just keeping it real.

We used to use this place for years with decent experience. Lately, their machines have been a BIG hit or miss where the washing machine doors won't lock tight such that soapy water leaks or the drying machine doors are loose and lets some heat escape OR simply doesn't dry unless you add a lot more quarters than usual/change the machine. Despite customers repeatedly having to ask for a fix, the owners don't update their machines. So, we are moving our laundry needs elsewhere

Avoid this place All of the washing machine are overpriced, large loads are $7, mediums are $5.5 and small loads are $2.5. Prices are as of 2025. All of the machines are old, have a very short wash cycle of only 28-36 minutes total and this time is for the smallest washing machines to their biggest washing machine. For reference a large laundry machine at other laundromats I’ve been to would run for 42-50 mintues. On top of being overpriced, all of the laundry machines fit less clothes than usual. The machines are shallow and don’t have a lot of depth and the width of the door is slightly smaller than newer machines. All together you get less volume and need more machines to wash more clothes. Also the medium and large machines have a problem with not having enough water. The clothes are never wet enough to splash and roll around. This is on top of the short wash cycle so you can quickly move from a dry, barely started wash cycle into the 2 other half baked rinse cycle with still dirty clothes in the end. And finally the dryers. The majority of them do not even work. And I mean they produce close to no heat and just spin. A high on some of the dryers here is a delicate on new dryers. Also all of the dryers have problems with the doors not closing tightly cause they are that old that the seal have worn off and instead of replacing anything they just add some tape. Also you’ll lose your sense of smell for a solid day after leaving this place cause everything is cleaned with bleach and it reeks of chlorine everywhere and especially the bathroom.

I’m gonna save you time and money—avoid this place! The washing machines don’t release water, and the doors don’t close properly. Worst laundry ever
